A 40 foot 92 year old menorial cross to honor WW1 vets deemed violation church/state. Goes to Supreme Court.

Government and religion shouldn’t mix.

If they tear this one down, our country is completely gone to shite.

We will call it a "t" not a cross. Next issue.

I don't understand why some people just want to ruin a good thing we call America.

The state did not pay nor construct the monument. Therefore, there is no constitutional violation. Just whining by regressives who don't understand the constitution.

What does this cross have to do with Government?

Fixed it for you:

The politics of the OT are less of an echo chamber than PT. You’re right, shouldn’t mix, but it’s good getting other perspective as well.

Next on the list, we're gonna have to scratch all of the crosses off the graves at Arlington National Cemetery.
Unreal. Butthurt, for the sake of being butthurt. Who is funding this BS?

The American Humanist Association, the group against the memorial who, along with three local residents, filed a 2014 lawsuit against Maryland officials, argue that the symbol "discriminates against patriotic soldiers who are not Christian, sending a callous message to non-Christians that Christians are worthy of veneration while they may as well be forgotten."
So...I guess if they were to find documentation that any of the 41 soldiers who died were of a religion other than Christian...they might have a case, since that is who it was actually built to memorialize. Why does the religion of those looking at the memorial matter?

Seems to benefit public more than any church/religion and those types of situations have been found to not violate 1st A in the past. Will not be upheld.

That's a pretty logical progression. The left is a fricking cancer

92 year old menorial cross
I just don’t understand the desire to tear shite down. If something has been part of the landscape for a century, then I really don’t care what/who it “endorses.” It’s a piece of history, and obviously the voters of the time weren’t bothered by it when it was erected, so who am I to judge their decisions of their time in my current time?
Do we not protect old ugly arse buildings and other structures solely because of their “historical” value?
Seems to me like refusing to protect something or specifically targeting something only because it is a religious item would actually be the State interfering with religious matters.

Wouldnt they have to tear up nearly every headstone at Arlington Cemetery?
Posted on 11/5/18 at 8:45 am to Morty
People need to understand separation of church and state means Govt cannot officially influence a church’s or religions practice or endorse only one religion. Conversely, church or religion cannot run the Govt like in many Islamic states

The way liberals work they would only remove the crosses.
The star of david they would leave and especially the crescent and stars.
