Amen brother. I’m right there with you. Up to 105 applications and 3 callbacks with no offers.

Everyone here looks at it from a micro perspective but macro this stimulus helps keep retail sales and the economy moving forward. The economic rebound we’ve seen has been directly linked to these benefits. Removing them will put the economy on shaky ground.

I hope like hell the jackasses in DC indeed let this end on the 31st bc it is absolutely crippling small businesses in the somewhat rural area I live in. Restaurants and other service businesses can’t even stay open bc they can’t get staff

Wait wait wait...People can pull down nearly $8000 a month and in benefits? What the frick?

This whole debacle has shown us four categories of which each citizen of the USA reside in:
1) Overlords: Pretty much the 1% who are inoculated from any significant legislation that doesn't meet dissolving the US.
2) Essentials: People whom have worked continuously throughout this experience and have a career for the foreseeable future that is needed to continue progression of life. These people are getting bent over daily due to not only having to support the lower categories, but also the Overlords.
3) Non-Essentials: People who thought they were essential but quickly realized how fast their job wasn't really needed when shite hits the fan. These folks can migrate to Essential or Deadbeat status pending on the rest of the year.
4) Deadbeats: These folks really didn't change much. Collecting checks they dont deserve. Establishing a long term plan of mooching off the Government. These folks came out the most ahead from all of this.

I encourage you to quit your job and find out.
I hope someone will hire you back when the CARES act runs out.

IF someone's furloughed & draws unemployment and the company calls them back and they refuse to return to the job, they no longer receive unemployment.
IF someone was permanently laid-off, they can draw unemployment benefits for as long as their State, some states 26 weeks some 52 weeks. But they have to prove that they've made an effort to find employment during the time they collected the government $$.

This part is waived currently.

Exactly. A lot of stupid people in this thread don't realize this. And if the person isn't losing unemployment, it is because the employer didn't report it.

I don’t know why y’all think everyone currently unemployed is some piece of shite worthless minimum wage worker, became they’re not. The ones who got extra put it back in the economy and it trickled down to a lot of businesses. Not sure why the hate.

Again, these numbers are based off of the average of the United States, not Louisiana, also that is for a couple, which is 2 people. $378 is the average per week without the $600, add those and its 978, times 2 people, $1956 times 4 weeks equals $7,824.

I see both sides of it, but you can’t blame certain people that worked through the whole thing for being a little salty. There are definitely instances where people that were working 10-14 hours a week were all of the sudden raking in $700 a week for doing nothing. But I can also see that a part of it was to stimulate the economy and that seems to have worked somewhat.
