I agree with your post. If a/your job becomes back open and you say no then the benefits should go away.
They will. In Louisiana if someone refuses the offer to come back to work, the employer is supposed to report it. These lazy mofos are ruining a program that’s keeping my lights on and mortgage paid. At 58 years old, it’s not as easy to find a job after a lay-off. I’m applying for jobs way below my experience level at this point and still not getting a chance.

Exactly
People don’t realize that most places that were forced to close that have come back are not operating At full capacity.
If you can’t even entice employees with full time employment with benefits, you surely aren’t going to get them when you can’t even equal the unemployment pay.
It’s a myth that there are an abundance of good jobs out there.

Stop lying
quote:These are just a couple of the times you accused me of “lying” by saying the extra weekly $600 from the federal government ended on 7/31. As part of a new stimulus the $600 may yet be extended partially or fully. But multiple times throughout the thread you accused me of “lying” and “spreading lies.” Well it’s 8/2 and the extra $600 did in fact end in July 31.
Stop spreading your lies

I have a niece that manages an IHOP and she cannot get workers due to they are getting more money on unemployment than working.

That's not a done deal, but weren't they trying to limit the PUA to 70% of prior salary.

Republicans proposed $200 a week and then eventually going to 70-80 percent of prior earnings. The $200 a week is would be until the states have time to get the numbers together for the 70-80 percent.

Not a great feeling to make over 60 k a year and still shut down thanks to the government and only getting $222 a week unemployment after tax.

Gotta tell you I would not expect that

Pelosi is blaming Trump.
LINK
Dems want the $600 back but Pelosi lies like a rug that people didn't get more on UE.
I know of 4 people that did not return to work as the unemployment boost made them $995 a week.
Their jobs had a freeze on all OT which was how they were making way more on UE. So they were paid to sit on furlough with what they made (some more) in regular 40 hours---- no OT.
Now there are no jobs to return to. They replaced people that were making $27 to $33 an hour for $13 an hour and they don't know what they are doing.
People are also forgetting the max Unemployment you can get in NC is $350 a week. No matter how much money you were making.
Louisiana and other States are less.

Yeah, it's fricked.
I'm just thankful I still have a part time job.

Or, you know, we could just end this farce of a fricking shut down and then the end of the unemployment payments wouldn't be an issue.
Government creates problem.
Government creates second problem to address first problem.
Rinse and repeat.

What exactly is it that you do

stop calling people broke dicks. lots of people are hurting and if covid continues to rule like democrats want people will start losing their homes.
Posted on 8/2/20 at 5:34 pm to DaleGribble
Me and my girlfriend have both worked throughout the virus, but I don’t think people that aren’t working are dead beats. I mean some of them sure, but you sound like a dickhead.
