It’s obvious you have a shitty job bro. But not everyone is like that. Quit being so bitter about it.
It's not a shitty job. It was great before this stupid virus shite started. I live a few hundred yards from work, make enough money to have a pretty decent life here, and get to spend a lot of the day outside in mostly great weather.
If you can't see why someone would have a problem with this scenario, that's okay. You're probably one of the ones that got a 4 month paid vacation and wonder why the one's that didn't are "bitter"?
Posted on 7/20/20 at 8:25 pm to DaleGribble
No I’m not. I’m just not one basing my entire opinion on this shite because of anecdotal evidence. There are plenty of hard working, good Americans that need this because they got laid off.

I never said that there wasn't. But there are plenty of people that got a raise and a 4 month break from working out of the deal.

Good. The 4 month paid vacation is finally over for everyone
So you know that not everyone is like that but still have comments like this?

Government creates problem
Government steals taxpayer money to pay people for their actions.
There is a common item here..

Yeah the government is fricked up. You don’t think they should help out the people they fricked over though?

That is so wrong it's not even funny. Absolutely no one I know in Oregon received 10k a month.

Never said that.
I'm for the government floating those they fricked over, but cutting off those who have no intention of accepting work
Government services should be cut to pay for it.

Well considering that’s what we’re talking about (those people that got fricked over) I don’t really understand your point.

ETA or how much money can you make and still collect?
Why are you asking me? I haven't drawn any unemployment. Call your state's Dept of Labor. They should be able to tell you how much you can make and still draw.

I replied to you because I wanted to say this:
I then clearly said this
We’re you making that argument? No? Then quit trying so hard

This has been an entertaining thread, partly because of your anecdotal evidence and melt down

so for the people clamoring to go get a job while still collecting unemployment, how many hours can you work and still collect?

Read it again. The OP was referring to a couple on unemployment. In Oregon, an individual can easily make $5,000- $5,500 a month on unemployment, with the extra 600 a week included.

That’s great. I’m not talking about those people.

The whole thing was poorly constructed in the rush to roll it out. But that's government.
There are people out there drawing UI from more than one State and making lots of money.
Washington State got killed. They screwed it up so badly that they lost up to $650 million.

When you report that you've returned to work, the state adds $200 to your weekly unemployment benefits. So, if your weekly unemployment benefits are normally $300, when you return to work you'll get $500. If you work all week and make $499, you'll get $1 from the state and the additional federal income.
If you work all week and make $500, congratulations. You just played yourself. You get no unemployment that week.

quote:Louisiana is $247 max. Even with the extra $600, I’ve taken a $1300/week reduction. I’ve got over 100 resumes out, so much that when someone calls, I often don’t even remember what it’s for. Unfortunately, these calls are few and far between. Business and Industry are in a holding pattern trying to forecast staffing while trying to also see how far the Democrats will go with the fear mongering.
I don't think you can make more than the state benefit. So in Louisiana its $275 or something. If you make anything above that working part time, you don't qualify.
Employers are now required to report employees who have been offered to come back but refuse, they’ll lose that UE and Stimulus payment soon enough, but shite on you assholes in here thinking that everybody receiving this is having a fricking party.
