Between this admission and Broome’s staff admission they “ran out of envelopes”, Government in Louisiana can now verbally admit incompetence without consequence.

Pack your bags, this state fricked.

If they predict 23 years as a worst case (Is there any other case in Louisiana?) this project might be finished sometime in the year 2357.

Better chance the Gulf will claim the land vs getting this built.

People that aren't even born yet will be driving through this construction.

We need to think outside the box. Enough people in the Baton Rouge area just need to pick up and move completely out of the entire state so that traffic decreases to the point that widening is no longer necessary.

Freaking dumbasses who don't read the next paragraph's first sentence

Go find his design alternative and get back to us. It’s out there just look. It was addressed and laughed at by any citizen with a brain.

He just likes to see his name in print and pretends to know better than anyone else when in reality I wouldn’t let him design my doghouse. He’s a shitstirrer who doesn’t have the resume.

I love Louisiana, don’t get me wrong. I’m proud of my culture and heritage and will forever love the people.

I’m so glad I don’t live there anymore though.

Aren't we all supposed to be dead in 11 years from climate change anyway?

The 23 years is probably due to funding it in extremely small amounts over 23 years. Somebody's nephew just started a highway construction company and needs enough work to get him to retirement.

Wasn't the entire swamp freeway built in a couple of years? Birmingham completely tore down interstate 20/59 through downtown and replaced it in a year.

Finishing i49 would render BR traffic much more manageable. Building a loop around EBRP would also basically keep non BR folks out (which is what I think they really don't want happening).

Look at it this way. You will celebrate two wins over Bama in that timeframe.
