re: Expected timeline for the I-10 widening in Baton Rouge up to 23 years (not satire)

Between this admission and Broome’s staff admission they “ran out of envelopes”, Government in Louisiana can now verbally admit incompetence without consequence.

Pack your bags, this state fricked.

If they predict 23 years as a worst case (Is there any other case in Louisiana?) this project might be finished sometime in the year 2357.

We'll have robotic flying cars before then.

Around Orange/Beaumont is still a cluster frick.

We need to think outside the box. Enough people in the Baton Rouge area just need to pick up and move completely out of the entire state so that traffic decreases to the point that widening is no longer necessary.

The 23 years is probably due to funding it in extremely small amounts over 23 years. Somebody's nephew just started a highway construction company and needs enough work to get him to retirement.

Wasn't the entire swamp freeway built in a couple of years? Birmingham completely tore down interstate 20/59 through downtown and replaced it in a year.
