Everyone hates the Advocate but believes the business report. Wow. Talk about satire.

Who are these "key stakeholders" and was this a publicly announced meeting?

and that the state has failed to explain how it will mitigate the negative impacts of construction on small businesses near the Perkins Road Overpass area or on the City Park Lake

So now the state is worried about negative impacts to small businesses? If this helped the coffers of the state, they wouldn't care if it actually caused the death of people, much less somewhat negatively impacted them. The covid shutdowns have proved that.

Brown also raised concerns about the length of time the project will take—a whopping 23 years, according to an agreement signed in late 2019 by DOTD

This is absolutely laughable. It's hard to describe how much I can love and hate this state at the same time.

quote:

LADOTD intends for the Undertaking to be constructed in stages approximately over the next 23 years, as funding becomes available.

Looks like the funding allocated for this is being used elsewhere.

Sadly, this is LA politics. Where do you think all the casino money is going? Where was it supposed to go?

quote:

But DOTD Secretary Shawn Wilson says 23 years is a worst case scenario for the entire widening project—which will span from the foot of the Mississippi River bridge downtown to College Drive

So the new bottleneck will be at College Drive, in 23 years. I think I'll just take the loop.

I know yall don't believe this, but projects don't get designed with the goal being spend the most money and build it at the slowest pace possible.

Are you not from here? This is exactly what LA does, EVERY time, in EVERY city in this state.
