When it's FedEx, I see that expected delivery window and think:

But the the time window comes and goes, and I see it turn to
quote:

Expected delivery: Today before 8:00pm

And I'm like

Even though it's FedEx and I've been through this time and time and time again with them. It's literally on the delivery truck and has been since 7:51am but I already know I'm not getting my package today and I know by tomorrow I'm going to have to call FedEx and be like

I already know how this is going to go, based on experience with FedEx. I'm going to call and raise all sorts of hell, get transferred four times, disconnected twice, then on hold for an hour before some retard with barely a high school diploma is going to sit back in his desk and basically tell me I have no other option but to sit there and just take it.

I hate FedEx, and yes, this is the second thread in about two months that I've made on this topic. If you don't like it, take your concerns and ship them to me via FedEx.

No matter where I've lived, I always end up as an end of day stop. I wonder how you get on the front end of the route.

FedEx has been one of the more reliable ones for me. They usually deliver before 3 pm.

Wish I could say the same. UPS is fantastic for me but FedEx always seems to be run by people who can't figure out how to pour water out of a boot with the instructions printed on the heel.

You are probably on the later end of the driver's route. The driver isn't going to deviate off his route to get your package to you to honor some arbitrary time window that customer service put down likely without even talking to the driver.

Now, its not your fault that they gave you a time window that they don't even know that the driver is going to be able to make, but when so many customers think that their delivery is more special and important than everyone else's then their hand is kind of forced to give some kind of time window.

My advice: don't try and plan around Fedex's time windows, and don't take it too personal. Obviously by your own admission trying to get someone on the phone at fedex customer service to bitch to is not at all worth the time and effort, especially considering nothing will be done about it.

Depends on your location and what kind of team they have running the local facilities. FedEx is great for me while UPS and USPS are absolute dog shite. I even know my FedEx driver by name because I once met him outside to tell him he did a great job.

Shout out to Curtis.

Very nice well written thread with lots of gifs.

I remember when it took 2-6 weeks to get something from the Sears catalog.

You don’t have my sympathies as long as it gets delivered the day they say it will be.

What are you having delivered? A kidney in dry ice with the patient on the operating table?

UPS fricked me on a time sensitive delivery last week. It was supposed to be at this persons house on thursday, and they were going out of town early friday morning.

Thursday mid morning, I get a notification saying there was a failure and that it would be delivered on Friday, or pay to have it shipped to a different address or on a different date ( which is kinda fricked up in my meaningless opinion, if you frick me over as a customer - do something to make it right/better) luckily there was a trustworthy neighbor that was able to run over and grab it off the porch so it did not sit the whole weekend.

I'm with you on Fed Ex.

My shop sends and receives a lot of packages. Fed Ex has cost me more lost work hours with customer service and in truly lost packages than not only USPS, UPS and DHL combined but also every single other company of any type combined.

The Fed Ex delivery guys I've talked to point to how their quota / schedules that govern their compensation are supposed to make deliveries faster but instead end up making drivers prone to just get rid of packages like hot potatoes.

Couple that with deciding to pay one Indian dude peanuts to answer the phones and many of their routes are simply awful.

If I order something online and there is a 2 day shipping option, i'll just about always use it. If they use FedEx, I save my money because it's going to take a minimum of a week regardless of what shipping option i select.

We ordered a mattress for our son from Amazon. Delivery address is in San Antonio. Shipping was handled by FedEx.

The tracking information on FedEx's website showed the package got to a carrier warehouse in Chino, California, on June 26th and there were no other updates.

The tracking information on Amazon showed the package made it to Fort Worth on June 30th then became undeliverable.

I called FedEx and they said it was lost in California on the 26th. I asked the customer service representative how the hell did Amazon show it arriving in Texas four days later. He had no answer.

Got a refund and ordered another one.

Own a business that has high-priority (before 10:30am or noon) express shipments that are the primary way they make money.

They clearly do not understand the time window that they provided. Calmly go to their office and explain that being untruthful to you, by them, is a problem and that you would like it fixed.

If it continues, go back to the shop...
