I liked Quaid in the movie "Frequency", which had a strong script and a nice ending. Everybody's All-America was never conceived to be a "love letter" to LSU football heroism in a Golden Age of the past. It was always going to be about a star athlete who sort of failed at real life, so, my enthusiasm for the film was destined to be lukewarm.

He’s been in the good movies and seems very likable. As for the movie it’s okay. I do like it but it’s pretty cheesy like a lot of movies were in the 80’s. It’s not good enough to be remade but it could be done a lot better today. The accents and phrases aren’t as bad as The Big Easy but sometimes still cringe worthy.

The teenaged dude that played Gavin Gray’s(Quaid) son was a local guy from Baton Rouge....

Went to Parkview, S. Auxt. Looked just like a younger Quaid too.

hat was the fall Roemer won when Edwin Edwards dropped out after the general election. (per wiki) That Bama game was probably in mid-to-late November?

i was an intern for the DEQ downtown BR in 89-90 and the running joke going around already was "What's the difference between Buddy Roemer and Elvis?" The answer: "We're not 100% sure Elvis is dead..."

Roemer was doomed from the start.

The movie that gave the LSU community John Goodman- now a Tiger Fan for life.

Yes, I remember it well. Anyone remember the nightclub facade on the side of Airline Hwy just north of Highland? That area was sure a lot more open, back in those days...

He's a jerk, but he is excused because he's a fan.

One of my coworkers at the time got a ref gig in one of the games. Non speaking part but a little more than just a crowd extra.

Guess you could say he got his one quarter of fame.

I was there and remember the stadium lights being on on nights they usually weren't. I could see the stadium from my design studio window where I was most nights. I also remember about that time, give or take a year, Sex, Lies and Video Tapes being filmed. BR was like Hollywood!

It wasn’t filmed at a game. It was staged and freezing AF

I worked one day as a helper for the production crew. Got fired when they caught me eating from the buffet that was set up for the bigwigs on set.

I was in school then, had a couple of friends of mine and an old friend of my wife in the movie. was at a game in the stands when they filmed some of the football scenes in Tiger Stadium.

Folks at the time said Timothy Hutton was real cool dude, Quaid and Lange a bit aloof.
