I was at the game when they filmed. We sat right behind the section where the crowd was during the filming

I worked at the A&P across from the old Woolco building where they shot a lot of the inside scenes. My grandfather played one of the coaches

Multiple former Tiger baseball players were extras in that movie. Mike Papajohn began his long career in movies as an extra during filming.

Anyone else ever hear the story that some chick blew Dennis Quaid at the Chimes?

A guy I knew knew a guy etc etc who claimed to have hidden in the bushes w/a friend of his near the set when Jessica Lange filmed her topless scene

That movie is not that good, but, it's about LSU, so, I like the movie.

I've always wished that it was a better film.

I was at the game when they filmed the run down the sideline. I think they did three takes and we all cheered

Quaid is a terrible actor, and the script has no ending. It just stops.

Despite the fact that the novel was written about the University of North Carolina (which refused to allow filming because the story defamed campus legend Charlie "Choo Choo" Justice), when it was filmed at LSU, rumors started that Gavin Grey was based on the former LSU All-American Billy Cannon. He won the Heisman Trophy in 1959 and played eleven seasons for three professional teams, but served two and a half years in federal prison in the mid-1980s for his role in a counterfeiting ring. Deford himself denies this, saying: "Never met Cannon and knew nothing about him personally," he says. "Gavin was strictly a composite of many athletes from several sports that I had covered."
Where is the Billy Cannon biopic?

Quaid ruled the bar scene back then.

The damn ads for extras casting calls was like, “If you hicks wouldn’t mind coming to the stadium instead of the truck and tractor pull at the Centroplex, we’d be happy and amazed.”.

My sister was the Production Assistant for Timothy Hutton and her friend was the same for Dennis Quaid. He (Quaid) took my sister’s friend out a few times and flew her out to Los Angeles once or twice. And yes, her friend (no pics) was/is a smoke show and still lives in BR. She’s half American and half Phillipino. Very sweet girl and I assure you she was not the one stated above who allegedly blew him at The Chimes.

Was it a Bama game? Maybe ‘86? First Bama game I attended at Death Valley. I was a Freshman in high school. I swear they filmed this movie during half time.

Yes. I was at one of the games where they did some filming on the field at halftime. Only for about 10 minutes they filmed during that game.
