I don't know why anyone is downvoting you (not that it matters here). I think some left wingers work themselves into a psychosis over politics. I've personally known multiple left wing musicians who've killed themselves. One used to dress like a swashbuckling pirate in daily life. I think waking up with a seething hatred for America every day and dealing with the daily doom espoused by Democrats and in far left leaning friend circles has to be exhausting. That and the mirror check where they have the mid-life epiphany that everything they believe in is stupid and wrong.

Kurt Cobain was a self avowed male feminist who let Courtney Love walk all over him because his political leanings made him afraid to be an actual man in the relationship. I always felt bad about the Mtv Music awards show when Axl Rose told Kurt Cobain (probably rightfully so) "You need to get your bitch to shut up!" and all Kurt could muster was looking at Courtney and trying to be hip and ironic and meekly telling her "Yea bitch shut up!" in a joking voice.
He couldn't stand up to Axl or Courtney. That was the era when the "man/testerone bad, woman good always" paradigm was starting to take hold in western culture. I'm 100% sure that ate at his manhood or what he had left of it due to Courtney.
TL:DR Kurt was a weak male feminist who got steamrolled by a clearly psychotic Courtney Love (who was handed down by Billy Corgan).

Not sure about the others but Gary Stewart was what would be considered a hard-core leftist. Huge into social justice and progressive issues. Basically a Tim Mcgraw.
