If they originally granted the day off that would suck

Yeah I'd force them to fire me unless it was a once in a lifetime situation.

With the 4th Tuesday I don’t expect anyone to be at work Monday

If you are a leader in your organization, you probably have a little more flexibility when it comes to pto.
Today is the last day of the quarter. I have 3 sales guys request pto for this coming Monday.

Normally not all 3 would be approved on same day however a little common sense says they should be able to enjoy a long weekend.
I will work Monday and cover anything needed for them . Which shouldn’t be much. The pool and beer will be there at 4pm just like it will be at 10am.

Personally the only exception of PTO being revoked post approval would be for a hurricane hitting.

Maybe at McDonalds you would be correct.

In a high level corporate setting many people aren’t even using PTO anymore and at the places I’ve been when you have budget and hiring signoff you’re being held accountable for outcomes not whether Sally was given the day off after she landed a huge account or completed a major project.

Never had it done and I wouldn’t allow him to revoke mine. If anything, your peer should be in the hook if your boss isn’t enough of a leader to cover for both of you. Regardless, I’d escalate this to his boss & HR

I have to constantly tell my people that PTO is not a request, it’s an earned benefit. I just need them to let me know in advance when they won’t be coming in. Don’t need to know why, and as long as it doesn’t interfere with other deadlines; there will never be a reason I would decline or revoke

Show him your dick and keep it out until he looks away.

This will ensure you are the victor and nothing else will matter.

Depends on where you work and how much grief you could get as a result.

Offer a trade. Sure, I'll come in, in exchange for:

-double time
-2 PTO days
-banging his wife

Nothing a little edited PDF can’t fix if his boss is that psycho.

Sounds like it’s time for you to start looking for a new place of employment.

Either need to tell him to pound said or make a HR claim!

I put in for the 3rd and 5th at the beginning of the year, it was approved, they pushed back about two weeks ago, told them I wasn't working and was taking off.

It all depends on how disposable you are.

Tell them no your taking off and start looking for a new job secretly. If they come back and say it’s non negotiable and you need to work, say congrats you just lost an employee and leave.

it also emphasizes the importance of maintaining a decent savings. even if it may not be "frick you" money, you can still say "frick you" for sorry shite like this and not be in an "i need this job" frame of mind. they bank on that.

Nope, this is a hill to die on.

Take it to HR, take it to his boss. Should be an easy win for you. if not, you know you need to leave that company ASAP, which it sounds like you do any way.

This is not a discussion or a back and forth with your boss. This is a "I put it PTO, you approved it, so I won't be here" and that's the end of the discussion.

No he doesn't. All he needs is the email or whatever proof showing the boss approved the PTO.
