Yeah because there’s never anyone in the left lane keeping me from moving over. Probably your slow arse. Besides, it’s incumbent on merging traffic to match speed and get in.

i've noticed that and a few other things that are likely leading to a majority of accidents & traffic nowadays:
- waiting until 25 yards til your exit to switch to the exit lane
- drastically slowing down to change lanes
- when in an accident, not pulling into the emergency lane to determine damage, take picture, call police, and transfer insurance info. Just stopping dead stop in the middle of busy interstate during rush hour because of a fender bender.

Drives me insane. A while back, the on-ramp at Perkins overpass area was stopped the whole length of the ramp and down Perkins. I figured the interstate must have been backed up, but nope. Some egg head stopped instead of merging and, because of that, couldn’t get up to a safe speed to merge.

When my wife and I were dating, she used to slow down when merging or just switching lanes. I retrained her. It was embarrassing to have her going 20 mph while waiting for a gap in the lane next to her to open up that was large enough for her to get over. It got worse when the cars stacked up behind her would start moving over, so the gap never materialized. We missed turnoffs a number of times because she couldn't get the car into the right lane. She learned.
She also used to always drive in the right lane, and I think that was because of her fear of switching lanes. I told her that was the more dangerous lane, because of cars merging from the on/off ramps. She never believed me until she got into an accident with a car that cut her off while trying to move over 3 lanes to get to the off ramp.
She still has issues turning left on a green arrow. She takes her foot off the gas and lets the car ease into the intersection. I ask her, "Would you like to pull over and let me drive?", and that gets her going. I usually let her know if there are cars behind her. More than one car should be able to turn left when the light turns green...

Some idiot on a cell phone did this in front of me several years back. Made me had to merge from a complete stop after he went on. Not a pleasant experience. I think that merge point is going to be shut down during the interstate rework.

But people need to get the frick out of the right lane when others are trying to merge in.
It isn't always possible if you aren't paying attention and are too late to get over. But any competent driver should be aware enough of their surroundings to easily scoot one lane to the left when coming up on a merge lane.

I just looked and that's not a really great place for an 18 wheeler to stay at highway/interstate speed around that loop.
But it is poorly designed. They should have kept the 3rd lane through the on-ramp merge so it allows for adequate time for merging. I mean, it's Colorado; were they really worried about not having enough space?

Passed a car stopped on the left shoulder. Once I passed the idiot rolled into the left lane without gathering speed.
I watched all the cars in the left lane making emergency lane changes through my rear mirror.
Had there been any cars in the middle lane someone would have died. Thankfully there was a gap at the time.

It’s actually unbelievable, you don’t pull onto the highway and then speed up...... it makes me so mad, I follow your sentiment, fricking kill these ppl.

Car A (even if Car B was staying in his lane and not merging)has the ROW, but you are correct if you're in a lane that ends. I found this out the hard way.

This is my absolutely biggest pet peeve of all time! I lose it every time someone COMPLETELY STOPS at the beginning of a merge lane like there's no lane at all and a yield sign. Makes me wish I was in a giant dump truck with a snow plow blade that would just bulldoze them out of the way AND flip their car on it's side at the same time.

Ohhhhh man now I'm pissed off. There may not be a more infuriating experience on the road than watching the fricking idiot see a green turn signal, take a few seconds to finish their text, put their phone down, then practically idle into the intersection, completely fricking over everyone behind them.
