Ugh. I really hate PI and death cases. Someone's gotta do it (and make bank off of it), I just can't.

How do you know? Are you a stakeholder in the system? Defense attorney? Adjuster? Physician? Judge?

You argued that these tort reforms aren’t what they’re made out to be- then why does the Plaintiffs Bar fight so hard against them? C’mon man at least be honest- reform makes it harder for the ambulance chasers to make more money. Plain and simple. You don’t practice in Louisiana but I’m sure you know how the law is tilted heavily towards plaintiffs in our state. These are sensible reforms that put us in line with most of our peers and the Plaintiffs Bar is against that- that tells me all I need to know.

I agree. Most of the affirmative defenses I see alleged in answers are completely without factual support and should be subject to sanctions.

I've been involved in them in different ways. I've definitely seen legitimate impacts that could not be exagerrated, and legitimate but less severe impacts that were exaggerated and total bullshite.

I agree with many of the reforms - lower jury limits, two year prescriptive period, etc

My point is that lawsuits aren’t just going to go away because of lower jury limits

It’s not a leap. A leap would being not feeling any sympathy or empathy for Jr. in this situation. The guy was literally in the hospital shortly after finding out about his wife. Either the poster is a troll or he has some mental issues. I stand by my statement.

ETA: I knew most people on this board are stupid but this thread really delivered the message to me that there are legit lunatics on here.

Well thanks to contact tracing you may be able to, if someone gets a call that another patron/employee at a place you dined became possible. You don't think some dumbfrick would she for mental anguish and other bullshite reasons

Wish they would pass a law that if you sued someone and lost you had to pay the other person's legal defense or something to cut down on lawsuits.

That girl in that choir that was apparently asymptomatic that caused 20 people to get Covid. Let them find one text message where she said she “wasn’t feeling great.” Will be swarming like termites

i used to do a ton of it (mostly bigger cases. couple over 7-figures) but i don't as much anymore. i'm shifting for 20 years down the road and not today

i'll still gladly take em from my old clients and if somebody wanted to hire me to do work on a big one again i'd do it

but the writing is on the wall, and not just tort reform. the barrier/costs to entry are just too high. pi advertising is THE most expensive advertising on google
