No, since we're being ridiculous apparently, the equivalent would be an earthquake weakened the floorboard at picadilly and my wife stepped through it and incurred injury a second after the event.

Maybe not but it’s a start. You and boozie, I’ll pray that you find peace in these trying times.

Love the “99% of lawsuits are frivolous” crowd. They’re all frivolous until someone someone rear ends them and then they’re gunning for policy limits because the insurance company refused to pay for their total costs of repair.

I've been hit in four car accidents and never sued.

No, since you’re at the wheel of your car and there’s not a person holding the floorboard of Piccadilly.

No, your swerve is still an intentional act that caused someone harm. It’s potentially excused by the sudden emergency doctrine. That doesn’t make it an accident

Everyone Sue's now, just wait until the Covid-19 lawsuits start popping up. Who do they sue? The government for opening up, businesses they visited? Friends/family who may have infected them

We already see employees file lawsuits saying their health is at risk in order to not go back to work.

You not going to make the point you think you are. The incidents were not like my earlier hypothetical and you are not lumping me in with the 99% of suits are frivolous.

Proving causation for that is impossible

The actual scientists don’t even really know how easily it spreads just yet

First we kill all the lawyers, then procurement, then HR

Of course. Still not going to make your point. I'm not arguing that there is never fault that can be assigned in auto accidents.

I’m glad your property damage and your bodily injury claim was settled within the year. Luckily for you you didn’t have injuries which necessitated long-lasting treatment forcing you to file suit to protect your rights in Louisiana before a year.

Or that you didn’t have a preexisting injury made worse and the insurance company denied your claim outright forcing you to sue to prove your case.

You must have a lucky rabbits foot with you up on that high horse of righteousness. I wish we were all that fortunate.

Covid liability cases are a no-go to me; you can't prove by a preponderance of the evidence that it is more likely than not you caught the virus at the restaurant, etc. You could have caught it practically anywhere.

Maybe if EVERYONE in the restaurant came down with Covid at the same time...

have worked in aviation weather for the FAA for 25 years. One correction to an earlier post: visibility was 1/4 SM as measured by an automated weather observing system. FAA tower did not augment the METAR observation.

Also, the ceiling was not OVC002. Rather it was VV002. Overcast defines a layer 200 feet AGL. vertical visibility VV was 200 feet from ground level into the atmosphere. VV is the highest level you can see into the sky when Dense fog FG is present. Distinct difference.
