can we compromise and do 30 min?

I say we ask the plants,
They are the reason for DST in the first place right?
Something about farmers and plants not liking being harvested in the dark or something?

My guess is he’s asking it that way because not everyone understands the nuance of canceling DST, means standard time remains
They just know they gain or lose an hour every year

if you cancel DST, you don't have to do anything, Elon
You missed the key word:

If daylight savings time change is canceled, do you prefer
If the "change" is cancelled, you pick one to stick with.

Fixed it.

That’s what I’ve always said, and that makes the most sense for almost everyone IMO.

Sure we can. Seems logical to me.
Won't be as dark in the winter mornings as the standard timers worry about, and the sun wont be up at 9:30pm in the summer. May even have some sunlight after work in the winter for the DSTers.

Hot take: there's not really anything wrong with the way we've been doing it.
I'd prefer DST since we have more sunlight in the evening after work/school. I can see how permanent DST wouldn't be great for kids waiting in the dark for the bus in the winter. One or the other would cause its own problems, just leave it as is.

he worded it correctly. Its you that is struggling.

Explain why he is an idiot
Because DST is man’s idea to try and manipulate the clock and sun.
Standard time is much more in line with our natural circadian rhythms in terms of when we generally wake up and when the sun comes up. I notice almost immediately I sleep better during standard time months than DST months.

Agreed.

You don't have to move the clock to get up when it is dark.

Id rather drive to work on the dark than drive home from work on the dark. Makes it feel like my day is already over at 5pm

I'll vote like I do every other time. Split the difference by 30 minutes. Keep the time there all year after the shift occurs.
That puts us out of sync with the rest of the world. Seems like the worst of all options.

Didn't they try getting rid of daylight savings time in the '70s and it ended after kids kept getting run over by cars while they were walking to school in the darkness?
