Uvalde is not terribly far from the border. Surprised you're a Texan and not aware that Uvalde is a huge drop spot for illegals from Central/South America and even Africa. Border Patrol is very active in Uvalde.

Schools aren’t impenetrable—especially depending on the time of day. Fences are scalable, students and staff enter and leave doors, doors/gates sometimes get propped open.

Schools will need metal detectors at every entrance now. It's a high cost but I wouldn't mind my tax dollars going to that. They already go to A LOT worse.
