El Paso is one of the busiest ports of entry we have. I'd guess 80k+ people cross legally every single day for business, shopping, social activities. People are allowed to drive across the bridge, show their passports, shop, eat a meal, visit a friend, and go home.

Thats the problem with the press. Anyone listening to them will swear up and down, those "assault weapons" are used in all the murders when all rifle calibers are used in 374 while revolvers are used multiples of that figure.

I have to admit, I've become desensitized to these because they happen so often now. I know the whole gun control thing is poo pooed on here, but it'd be difficult to do this kind of thing with a handgun unless you were a pro. C'mon Rambos of the OT. Downvote me. DGAF. More people were killed by shotguns, knives, fists & feet and blunt objects than rifles in 2016 per the FBI.

We had an assault weapons ban and Republicans killed it by letting it expire and refusing to reauthorize it. The majority of law enforcement supported the ban at the time.
Nothing is going to be done about this because one side is bought and paid for. We will continue to be a joke around the world who values gun makers profits over human life.

The Virginia Tech shooter used a 9mm pistol with 10 round magazines. 32 were killed. In theb60s a lone shooter took a 5 round bolt action rifle right up a tower in Texas and killed 18, wounding 31.
What determines the number of casualties doesn't depend on caliber or magazine or folding stock, it depends on first how many people are there. Second of those there how many can or won't flee and third how many can or can't fight back.
