Can’t find a job in Louisiana?

Texas should give Beaumont to Louisiana in exchange for them taking Beaumont

It is a dump.
It isn't even an American city.

Cool city. Safe, good food. Cowboy boot outlet stores.

Crime in rampant in EP
It just straight up isn't. There's a lot of DUI's but generally crime is next to nothing for a city it's size.
I enjoyed living in El Paso for a year, but I wouldn't do it again. Traffic is absolutely arse, and really limited things to do. There are far worse places to live, but far better places as well.

I went to the notable Tex-Mex place in El Paso. I forget the name of it, but it was good. I also got the feeling that if you weren’t Hispanic, it would be a very odd place to live. But people were friendly.

As far as things to do… there are lot of outdoor rec opportunities fairly close by in New Mexico. Nearby mountains, BLM land, national forest etc. Good mountain biking, hiking, back packing, off roading, camping, fly fishing, climbing. There is plenty to do near El Paso as far as outdoor activities are concerned.

No lies detected. Only crime you have to worry about in El Paso is if you cross the Cartel

That's completely valid if you are into those things. Heat also shuts a lot of that down from May-September though. Was like 100 straight days over 100 there last year.

I loved El Paso! Great Mexican food, the missions were beautiful, hiking paths are numerous, people were friendly and lots to do in New Mexico. Beats Dallas and Houston hands down.

Lived in El Paso for a year. As long as you stayed away from the Triangle, it's pretty safe.
I miss rolling up to my favorite Mexican restaurant on a Sunday morning with my own pot and getting it filled up with Menudo for next to nothing.
Shopping on the West Side where I lived was interesting on the weekends. Nothing but cars with Chihuahua plates, and not a word of English to be heard

Lived in El Paso for one year while my Dad did his last tour in Vietnam.
We ate Mexican food in El Paso (to avoid enchiladas de pero) and steaks in Juarez (very inexpensive at the time). I would get my haircut in the giant barbershop in Juarez (there must have been fifty barbers in the place if my 7th grade memory serves me).
We'd ride the bus downtown and hang out. I'd take my dog up into the mountain above Sunland Park to check out the trains passing by.
Went back about ten years ago. There was a lot of change downtown.

El Paso has topped the list of safest cities in the country, first in a recent 2025 study, and No. 6 in a 2019 study.Mar 2, 2025
You have fort hood and border patrol offices there.. it is actually cosmopolitan in its own way.. downtown being revitalized.. and some very very wealthy investors out there.
Plenty of food drink shopping and outdoor activities ( minus much water)
Close to hop to parks in other states with water
Main problem is just a feel of isolation ..
people in general very friendly and tend to help others and strong extended family ties.
