Truck prices are ridiculous. A local dealer has a Ram 2500 Limited discounted $18K and they still want around $90K for the truck. That’s stupid.

A 2024 Ram TRX is $125K.

Got $14K under sticker from Mark Dodge, and they were damn good on the trade considering they delivered my truck and only had a picture of my old one with the VIN.

Interior is great. Gas engines are average. Diesel engines are really good if you’re 2500 or greater.

That diesel engine is smooth as butter. Rented a couple of Rams on different occasions for vacation when I didn't have a pick up truck. Tons of power for the mountains in WV and VA.

If you want something that has poor reliability and is constantly in the shop, they're great. Do yourself a favor and get a 22 or earlier Tundra. The last good truck made.

Have a friend that just bought a 2024 Tundra Hybrid. Curious to see his thoughts over the next two years.

Not all Rams are created equal. World of difference between a gas powered 1500 and the 2500 3/4 ton Cummins 5.9L diesel I've driven since 2007. It's a 1998 1/2 model.

Looks like it's been through a lot, but runs great and pulls like a beast. The only problem with those of that gen was automatic transmissions not lasting, but I have 5 speed std.

I'd never bother buying a 1500.

2017 Ram 1500 that I owned for 4 years. Put 25k miles on it a year and I had to drive through shite roads and cane fields for a year of ownership. Not one single problem in 105k miles when I sold it. I'd have another one if I didn't have a company vehicle.

I have a 4WD 2500 Cummins turbo diesel. It has 155k miles on it. I’m going to run it until it falls apart, which is beginning to look like a very long time.

I've driven 2 Ram 2500s since 2011 (BIL was an exec with Chrysler, so get the employee discount). Both have been good trucks, overall.

BTW, you can get Ram to build you a new truck using the 2009 body style for less money.

Dodge had to completely rebrand their truck line to Ram because everyone knew the Dodge name on a truck as total junk. They are slowly trying to rebuild their reputation every year. Ford will always own the market share though. Better engines, better interior, better truck.

Seeing huge discounts on Rams' right now locally. Not surprising given their inventory issues.

Not sure what you mean by inventory issues, but Stellantis has kept building a shite pile of Rams. Lots are full and discounts are very common.

Fyi for the OP, Mark Dodge in Lake Charles gets discussed a ton on Ram forums and Facebook pages. They are supposedly one of the best priced Ram dealers in the country.

Guys from all over the country go to Mark Dodge to buy.

No I have a 2020 and its had its entire fuel tank system replaced twice. at some point its stops taking gas and keeps clicking off ever 50 cents of gas you pump. doing research and found its pretty common and they have done nothing to change the shite design.

Yes especially when weather is cold. Very aggravating to take 20 minutes to fill up the tank.

I work at a RAM dealership, in my opinion and backed by 30 years in the business, there is not a nickels worth of difference in ANY truck that is comparably equipped. Go drive everything in your price range, buy the one you like best.

Sorry, thought it was clear. Lots of inventory problems in this case means too much inventory. They are close to 200 days on Ram trucks

I had three F-150s in a row (Crew Cab, 4x4) and was going to buy a 4th in 2020. After I test drove the RAM it was not even close. Now at 80,000 miles with the RAM and really happy with it. The 2020+ Rams are very different from the previous version. Drive them all and see what makes you happy.
