I believe cops and others in Chicago have suggested the feds usurp the DA here in Chicago on cases because they won't prosecute.

This is also correct, and sadly the people we are talking about just keep repeating the same story over and over.
They don't have enough sense to get out of their own way.

Thanks LBJ and the Great Society idea. You killed the nuclear family which held black communities together. fricking Marxists.

It is indeed unbelievable this society that “well- intentioned” Democrats built for black Americans. Maybe someday you’ll read about that.

You mean a political party held people down and keep them uneducated so they will vote for that party no matter what? Kind of like how you will vote for your party no matter what? To me, that makes you no different because both sides think they are right. With that said, can someone look up the voting data in this area? I'd be curious to see how many people actually give a frick enough to go vote.

People living in poverty in cities are more likely to commit crimes. Hell it happens in rural areas. How many trailer parks around this country, in rural areas, are filled with methed out hillbillies who probably robbed their grandparents blind to get whatever they can to get their fix?

You don't hear about those stories as much because its in rural areas and the local media has enough crime within their city to report on.

There is a town in Oklahoma that is a drop off point for cartels. In and around that area dealers are able to get product a lot easier so the whole area is infested with meth addicts. A bunch of whites and indians robbing and stealing in order to get money for their next fix. You don't hear about these stories often because its in rural areas that don't attract the media's attention as much as crimes in cities.. Oklahoma is a Republican state.

Are Republicans pumping meth into Oklahoma (which if I am not mistaking is the state with the most meth activity in the country) in order to hold these people back so they don't vote democrat?

So of you people think political party is associated with every problem in this country. Drug addicts, drug gangs, etc don't give a frick about politics.

One way to fix the problem is to no long make judge an elected seat. When your job depends on people going into a both and selecting your name, you are more likely to do favors for those people. That has nothing to do with party.. but yes maybe I will someday read about whatever bullshite you assume. Dumbass.

Can you give history of why this would be significant?

100 percent chance the father's attorney will claim mental insanity.

Really...a missing word in the very first line of the article.

If the father spends a day in prison this is unconscionable racism.

Not being dramatic either, Gary Plauche got a year of probation, this is on the same level as that, but even more justified since his kid died.

DA is on some thin ice here, imo. Nobody wants to condone vigilantism but he might have to let this slide.

I know the father. Definitely not a thug or a gangbanger. When I heard the news, I was quite shocked because I know him as a kind, mild mannered man. Guess the loss of your kids can change things in a man. I hope he gets freed

Carter's female victim...

quote:

Verasmende was 19 when she was shot four times in the back of the head on July 13, 2016, in the parking lot of the Mark VII Apartments on Papania Drive in New Orleans East.

Brown was arrested and charged in her death. Prosecutors have said investigators believe Brown and another still unidentified person killed Verasmende based on suspicions she had stolen drugs intended for sale.

Criminal District Judge Keva Landrum-Johnson sentenced Brown to 30 years in prison on the manslaughter charge. Additionally, she gave Brown 10 years for an obstruction of justice conviction and 12 years each for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and illegal possession of a firearm.

I think she got out because of a non-unanimous verdict. Looks like it's POS all around.
