Anyone else here that would love to eat healthier, but have no idea how to? I eat out at work every day.. and a lot of times it has to be something quick. I have two young kids that play every sport and we are constantly on the go. I really honestly don't know how to do it.

Anyone have any advice? I'm not overweight or anything, I just know that I'm in my mid thirties and I can't continue to eat this way. I do find that I don't have the energy that I used to have though.

Struggling with the same thing. The problem is, most of us are so busy with work, kids, etc that it is so much easier to just whip through a drive thru at lunch or pop a couple pizzas into the oven at 7:00 pm. Gotta break the habit. Meal prep is the way to go if you can do it.

People prep or cook all meals and keep snacks at work, in the car, etc to fill in the spaces between big meals

Whatever. Eating healthy can be cheap and easy. I'll help you.

Breakfast - eggs, turkey bacon, cereal

Lunch - lean meat sandwich on whole wheat bread. Perhaps a wrap. Put some veggies in there. It won't hurt. Maybe also pack an apple and some peanut butter.

Dinner - salads and vegetables; lean meats grilled or baked

Cheap. Easy. It's not hard or expensive. Snack on nuts and fruit. Maybe cheese and crackers. Apologies if you have to wake up 10 mins earlier to make a sandwich instead of eating mcdonalds. Or make it at night and put in the fridge.

Eating healthy being hard or expensive is a lie. Put down the Twinkie sir.

My wife meal preps for the whole week on Sunday afternoon. I'm not trying to tell you how to raise your kids but maybe you should limit your kids after school activities if you don't have time to even eat. While investing in your kids is important, keeping yourself healthy is very important too. You still need time for you and time for you and your wife.

A big thing that has helped me is the sous vide I bought two weeks ago. I can prep for a week or two in one day and spend very little time in the kitchen during the week.

The taste is outstanding even with very little ingredients and a load less salt. My time in the kitchen on the average day is down over an hour with prep and clean up almost nonexistent.

Putting a Tupperware in the fridge at work is hard. Making a salad in the morning to fill the Tupperware is particularly challenging.

and expensive if you do it right.

Not at all. Especially if you're eating out at lunch everyday. You'll definitely save money there

My job has me on the road a lot, so I understand how easy it is to give into the temptation of fast food. Places are literally lined up on every street. I'm not a big fast food eater, but I could see, like I said, how that would be a real struggle for someone trying to eat healthy for a change.

My go to "grab fast food" is smoothie king and a snack bar or something. Much better than burger and fries or whatever other fast food.

Go paleo 6 days per week and use Saturday as a cheat day.

Limit all alcohol except for your cheat day.

Cook your meals on Sunday (2 hours max).

Buy these individual serving meal prep containers to store the food you cooked on Sunday.

Drink the same smoothie each morning before work (banana, protein powder, spinach, almond butter).

I've found that the easiest way to stay on a healthy diet is to cook in bulk and prep meals one time a week. Use your oven or grill to cook chicken breasts, lean beef, or fish on a Sunday evening. I would always shop on Saturdays and marinate the meat overnight (make sure you make your meals somewhat tasty without using butter or fattening sauces). Prepare enough for lunch Monday through Friday. Pair your protein with a vegetable or something like brown rice/quinoa. Make sure to change it up and keep it interesting so you don't get burnt out on one dish. Not a bad idea to bring a fresh piece of fruit with you too (it can help kick that sweets craving). Skipping that fast food meal will make a huge difference in your overall health. Plus, it will save you lots of money.

Americans aren't fat because of genetics or because healthy food is expensive or hard to prepare. They are fat because they think everything that they eat must light up their taste buds and because they don't exercise.

That is a fact.

Unless the pilgrims were the fattest frickers to ever cross the ocean, it ain't American genetics.

There are also a ton of cheap healthy foods available. Those foods just don't taste like fried chicken or a snickers bar. Get over it. You're an adult and costing tax payers billions of dollars a year to fund your addiction to taste.

You sound like a hangry sumofabitch. Probably because you eat grass and nuts everyday. Chill out

And I only eat twice a day. I know that's bad, but I'm never hungry in the morning. I eat lunch at 11:30, then dinner when I get home at night. I don't eat sweets, and stuff like that.

What I do: eggs and fruit for breakfast. Make a turkey sandwich and put carrots in a bbag while eggs are cooking. Usually a more healthy granola bar too. Very healthy and nnot very time consuming.

So wake up 30 minutes earlier? Then, you've got to add 5 minutes for making a sandwich. Eff that

just a meat and potatoes kind of guy.. that's what makes it so hard.

Substitute potatoes for spinach or broccoli, those abs will come back.

I just eat meat and greens now, went from a 34 to 30 in 4 months.

I do meal prep sometimes, don't always have the time. But we had to go check out some property in Houma and stopped at the walk ons to eat. I just got a shrimp salad. You can eat healthy anywhere these days, even if you are on the go.
