Billy Strings. Had to look it up myself. He is an extremely overrated blue grass player. His a very talented guitar and banjo player, but doesn't create any new music of note. I don't like most blue grass so maybe i am being overcritical but the guy just doesn't do it for me.
lol at this guy
re: Your Honest Thoughts On Strip Clubs
Posted by Lawyers_Guns_Money on 11/28/25 at 6:55 pm to DamnGood86
Dude - You are 41. Your life is not over. You can flip your life/health completely around and be a completely different person in a year.
Your life does not have to be sad, you have the power and ability to change things. You don't have to be the strip club guy.
Tonight could be the night that instead of driving 90 minutes to go to a strip club solo, you decided to change your life for the better. Spend the weekend putting together a workout plan, finally commit to starting that hobby, read a book or two on $$$.
You'll slowly find your life becomes more fulfilling. You feel better physically and mentally. You start earning more money. With that, you also start to get the attention from some attractive women that you don't have to pay for.
Life is too short, take this weekend to take the first step at being better.

What did it skyrocket to?
Umbrella Policy's are cheap. I have $2m for like $700 bucks.

It has grown substantially in the US over the last several years. I did one of the first races here, but I do think they’re full of shite about how popular it actually is. Like I said, I think they only release a percentage of the actual spots that they know will “sell out” for marketing purposes.
The popularity thing is real imo.
I’ve done 4 Hyrox events, starting in 2023 in Chicago and most recently did Vegas this year.
It was eye opening how big Vegas was compared to previous years..plus the level of competitor was much higher.
Hyrox is a spectacle, they run an amazing event. I’m glad it’s catching on and highly recommend people do one.

How are you guys learning and advancing your education here?
I’m trying to get a crash course on Zapier, Airtable, OpenAI, Notion.
Been using YouTube and ChatGPT as my primary learning sources, but want to get to the next level.
Trying to build solutions that can automate manual tasks in the logistics industry

re: Anyone get nervous when splurging on food and what brings you back to baseline?

This is common, I think everyone that has lost weight deals with this.
The biggest skill to learn is the ability to snap & clear, get back on the wagon.
I would encourage you to get away from the idea of "Cheat Days" or "Cheat Weekends". I had this mentality for years and resulted in me mass bingeing on weekends.
I've been able to move into a headspace where I eat clean 90% of the time, but choose to indulge when the time is right.
Have a few slices of pizza, but not the entire pizza. Have some ice cream, not the entire gallon.
Even if you do screw up (which you will), just wake up the next day and get back on the wagon. Forget about it, one day isn't going to kill you.

re: Does anyone have a home sauna?

How much room do you need for a setup like this? Did you build like a metal building and put all this under roof? Can you share more details? I would like to do something like this. TIA
It's all in my backyard on my back porch. The cold punge is underneath a patio cover which is about 5-10 steps away from the Sauna. It takes up a 72 x 33 inch footprint.
For the Sauna - I previously had a 4x6 wooden deck pad directly behind my house (extension of the patio, but not covered) that I had a Traeger on. Had the guy build a sauna that fit in this exact spot, moved the grill to another place.
The whole thing was pretty expensive, but after considering it for literally 5 years I said YOLO and went for it.
Looking back, here is some info I would have like to have known..
- It is possible to build a sauna in a really tight spot & there are people that specialize in this. Not everything has to be the huge barrel saunas
- Wifi controllable sauna heater is 10000% worth it
- Many cold plunges are okay to leave outside in the elements, but if you have any sort of cover (Garage, patio cover, etc) then you are set
- I went with Modtub cold plunge and I recommend this to everyone. It is on the lower price end of the market and every component can be replaced easily off of Amazon when your warranty ends. Many people have issues fighting with cold plunge companies that don't stand by their products

I had a custom traditional sauna built in my backyard about a month ago. Also added a cold plunge earlier in the year.
Freakin love it. The sauna is a game changer having it at your house and I use it every single day (20 min at 185-190 degrees).
If you can afford it, highly recommend along with a cold plunge.

re: Wife Is Considering Starting A Side Hustle (Laundry Service)

My girlfriend does this.
It’s insanely cheap, it gets done in <24 hours or even same day. Laundry is folded neatly.
I can ask for exact pricing, but it’s like $10-15 bucks.
I can’t imagine this is a good business..Very low pricing, immediate turnaround, dealing with people’s property. Feels like there would need to be an additional value prop to make this worthwhile

What don’t you like about it
I think at the end of the day, it comes down to what you are using the sled for.
I am training for Hyrox events in which I have to push/pull a ~225 pound sled. In competitions I find the real sled WAY harder than the Torque Tank. Part of this is because I can't control the weight of the Tank, the other part is a real sled is just harder.
If you're doing knees over toes guy or just regular sled intervals, I think it could be pretty good.
It's just annoying to pay 2-3x for something not as good as a real sled (even though it does fix the noise issue).
Pros:
- Completely solves the noise and tearing up yard issue
- Allows for sled workout at home
Cons:
- No ability to control weight, all based off of effort (how hard you push)
- Front tire has gone flat on me twice, huge pain in the arse to change
- A real loaded sled is significantly harder to push

I have the Torque Tank M1.
I couldn’t figure out a good way to use a traditional sled on my driveway without being super loud, so went with the Tank.
I don’t love it - It gets the job done, but would def prefer a Rogue Dog Sled or similar.

Voice sounded completely fine to me, no noticeable issues. He sounded good.
He appears crazy skinny and he can't walk normally. Hard to explain what it is, but something is off with his walking. Like he can only walk with his legs 100% locked.

Saw him at the Ryman the other night for his Christmas show. This was a tradition of ours prior to his retirement, so I was happy to have him back.
He's definitely seen better days physically. Nothing crazy, but you can tell he is dealing with some issues. Music still sounded great.
See him while you still can, a true legend.

re: First InBody test starting to get serious
Posted by Lawyers_Guns_Money on 11/25/24 at 8:43 pm to Athletix
I wouldn’t get too wrapped up in the actual %, there’s a huge variance between testing methods (DEXA, InBody, etc). You’ll have crazy sticker shock if you switch from InBody to DEXA.
Regardless - just use this as a proxy and get to work.
MacroFactor is a great app - I highly recommend using it. I think you’ll see great success.
Another quick/simple win - Focus on getting 10k steps per day. This had as much of an impact on me leaning out as actual training.
Good luck - Book your next InBody in 12 weeks and get to work

Yes - Every week.
I turn Sunday into an active recovery day.
Go for a walk and get 10k steps. Sauna/cold plunge.
