Eating healthy is hard

Anyone else here that would love to eat healthier, but have no idea how to? I eat out at work every day.. and a lot of times it has to be something quick. I have two young kids that play every sport and we are constantly on the go. I really honestly don't know how to do it.
Anyone have any advice? I'm not overweight or anything, I just know that I'm in my mid thirties and I can't continue to eat this way. I do find that I don't have the energy that I used to have though.

It is. But it's more about lifestyle as wel. They go hand in hand

I know.. my friends that are big into healthy eating, and working out... those bastards are like machines.
It's 100 percent a complete change of your lifestyle.

Just make a sandwich or something in the morning and bring it to work

Set aside one afternoon/evening per week to meal prep for the entire week. Get organized.
Or, depending on your budget, find a place locally that can do something like that for you.
I personally have started portioning out my meals and trying to eat somewhat healthy, so I meal prep for 2 weeks out of the month, then hit up Fresh Kitchen off Corporate (Baton Rouge) for their premade meals, for lunch and dinner for the other 2 weeks.
You should also check Facebook, there are a lot of people who deal meal prepping services as their personal business for decent pricing and will even deliver.
ETA: Also, there is a difference between legit eating healthy and simply trying to lose weight by reducing calorie intake.

Do you just put it in separate Tupperware and keep it in the refrigerator?

Crockpot for dinner so you have something healthy ready when you get home. No excuse to stop and eat fast food. You decide how healthy the stuff is when you put it on in the morning.

I know that. I'm not trying to lose a bunch of weight.. but I sure would like to have my abs again.
I'm just a meat and potatoes kind of guy.. that's what makes it so hard.

I don't eat healthy but I eat frugally. Usually take a sandwich to work, saves me like 40 or 50 bucks a week not buying lunch daily.

It sucks, especially living in South La because a lot of our fun functions revolve around food.
Let me tell you what I did
I had only 10-12 lbs to tighten up
So I went 30 straight days with out touching a carb, and got down to my goal weight. It sucked and was miserable. But now, I have maintained by goal weight for 2+ years by eating zero carbs, I mean zero, Monday-Thursday, and whatever I want, I mean whatever I want, fri-Sunday. And that hasn't been difficult at all

So eat meat and potatoes. Just don't eat too much meat and potatoes. And lift 4-5x/week.
Pre-planning and prepping your own meals goes a very long way.

It is, especially when you are busy with a family

Eating healthy isn't hard, but eating leftovers can be. You've got to accept the fact that you're going to be eating something you made on Monday for another 2-3 nights during the week. Once you get over that, it is all about setting aside the time to cook your meals for the week and call it a day.
The biggest issue I have when trying to eat healthy is getting over the monotony of traditional healthy foods on a weekly basis. There is only so much chicken breast and baked fish a man can eat.

It's not hard, it's just a commitment. You can't really half arse eating healthy. Sure you can have cheat meals and enjoy going out to eat at restaurants, but to actually do it you have to fundamentally change how you approach food and how you eat me live
I'm a fat frick right now btw so that's my best advice

agreed...I find it to be both difficult and expensive.

Our typical weeknight meal is a protein, roasted veggie and an easy side salad or slaw
You can mix and match that all you want and it will be relatively healthy if you keep the dressing light and portions reasonable

Hell yeah its hard especially when all your friends have the work hard play harder attitude....life's one big party that never ends.

Last year I made a commitment to changing my life. I give 1 hour of my day to exercise instead of work or television. Instead of frozen pizzas and the like, I have wheat bread, deli meat and soups. Instead of chips and cookies, I have pretzels and 100 calorie popcorn. Instead of sodas, I have waters and green tea. 75 lbs. later I can say it's the best decision I ever made.
