Yeah.. Lester mentioned that above. I'm going to check it out.

It would be nice to change my entire family's eating habits. My kids are 6 and 9.. really active and play a lot of sports and activities. No video game bullshite.. my wife and I don't allow it. But we all eat very unhealthy.

I'm not going to lie, I used to be very active, but lately I've been a lazy bum. I'm in some sort of rut. I do coach football and I'm pretty active during that time of the year.

it is so much easier to just whip through a drive thru at lunch or pop a couple pizzas into the oven at 7:00 pm. Gotta break the habit. Meal prep is the way to go if you can do it.

Exactly.

Calculate how much time you spend in a drive through or waiting in line for "fast food", then add it up for the week. You could spend that time on the weekend cooking for the rest of the week.

Although, I do love me some Taco Bell

Get a nuwave oven. Bulk buy chicken and steaks and frozen vegetable packs.

Takes zero effort, and about 35 minutes to have baked chicken and steamed vegetables for supper every night. Steaks take about 15 minutes.

I cut up a tenderloin into my own filets. I vacuum seal them and throw them in the freezer. I always have steak, chicken and fish in our freezer. Are steaks good to eat? I'm sure it's the portion that's most important.

Theres things you can do like substituting water/lemon for soft drinks at restaurants that will actually save you money and drop your weight. I speak from experience.

Not lately.. my little boy went duck hunting a few weeks ago with my FIL down there. I've been too busy getting fat and eating unhealthy.

I have a friend that does that with her entire family. All 4 kids do the same thing too. Pretty good idea. But I love some Coca Cola classic in some ice.

I'm not a fan of baked chicken. I guess grilling some yard bird is ok too. I can do that with some BBQ sauce or ketchup.

OP, it may be hard to prep meals for an entire week in advanced with wife and 2 kids depending on storage space in fridge. You don't have to go all stupid and eat nothing but carrots and potatoes everyday. Even fast food restaurants have healthy menus now. Instead of eating bad everyday, maybe just limit it to the weekends and holidays or whatever. Do some research also about more options or recipes to eat healthy. Youlll get tired of some of the stupid shite like you see in this thread that people act like you need to eat every freaking day. After a few weeks oatmeal, smoothies, and "fresh veggies" will become stupid and retarded and you'll end up murdering somebody. Just cut back some on bad food, open a can of green beans with supper, shite like that. It's not bad. Everybody's life is different. Just b/c someone in this thread says they have 14 kids and work 60 hours a week and can do all this extra stupid crap to eat healthy don't mean you can, or have to. I'm not even mad

Eating healthy is hard by MSG

Healthy... MSG... Lay off the Chinese Food.

It really isn't hard though. Just eat a protein and a veggie. Skip the carb laden sides but don't freak out about being low carb. If you want a baked potato, sub a baked sweet potato and dress it with a little butter, salt, pepper, and green onions, bacon bits even, if you need them.

Use olive oil everywhere you can and a little butter when needed.

Master roasting a chicken and enjoy it hot the first night and leftovers a few others. Pork tenderloin, chops are good if you don't fry it. Salmon or some other fish, and maybe a pot of beans(easy on the lard) and you've got a week of food that can be cooked in about 1 hour/ night. Hell you could even mix in an occasional steak and you're good.

Stick to the outer ring of the grocery store and save the mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and pasta for one night a week. You're young enough such that just changing your diet as simply as this would do you fine.
