Everyone, as usual, ignores the impact of the farm lobby. Government sets price floors on products which essentially forces manufacturers into finding alternatives. Why does Mexican Coke have real sugar in it, while us Coke has HFCS? Blame the sugar lobby.

And you morons that magically think the EU eats cleaner food have never been in a Carrefour or a tesco. And Mexico? Have you looked at any Bimbo products lately?

I sure hope spindrift isn't filled with harmful chemicals and shite (I'm a normal human who doesn't analyze the ingredient list of every item I consume). I recently started drinking those during the day because I love carbonation but don't want to drink soft drinks.

Every grocery store has plenty of fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy, and carbs that are perfectly fine. If you want to be lazy and not cook from scratch that's not my fault.

I cook about 95% of my food. I'm 100% off carbs and sugar. However, that supermarket full of meat is full of antibiotic and hormone added meat. Not to mention coloring and nitrates. Fruits and vegetables are covered in wax with godknows what is in that and sprayed with all kinds of shite to keep from spoiling and keep the pests off it. So no the supermarket isn't full of great food. It's still full of bullshite processed food that appears as clean food.

We’re soon getting warning labels on packaged food if the FDA has their way. (but of course the FDA is a co conspirator in MAGA and RFK lalaland).

General Mills and others are none too happy about that. “Free country to eat what you want” and all, with lawyers incoming.

There are plenty of people that think that Froot Loops are a healthy breakfast for children. Not "the healthiest" but still "part of a balanced breakfast to jump start your day". Because this is on the box.

No, you are missing the point.

There's not a single person worth talking about that thinks that fruit loops are the healthiest option available. NONE.

People buy it because they want to, and that should be allowed. END OF STORY.

no man...we must restrict freedom of choice despite him not being able to provide 1 study showing fruit loops or any other cereal causes cancer

we must do something!! even if its the wrong thing and restricts freedom!!!

agree with this

food stamps should get you

eggs
rice
beans
ground beef
chicken
pork
fruit
veggies

no steaks, not junk food

yep....average number of steps per day for the average American is around 2500, almost every European country averages twice that, many 3x that.

Fillers, imitations/replacements for "cleaner" ingredients that cost more, preservatives that increase shelf life so less lost product due to spoilage.

Maybe not a money savings per se, but through R&D the company can find out which ingredients enhance color, taste, texture etc, leading to more sales.
Got it. Thanks.

If you want a warning label on a box of fruit loops, fine I’m all in agreement. But, fruit loop consumption (as well as alcohol, tobacco, soft drinks, etc) remains and will remain optional.

Yes. Who would argue against correct labeling and warnings on food?

If FDA is allowing cancer causing ingredients to be in a box of food, then label it as such. Don't market it with farm animals to sell to parents and label it as healthy.

People are well educated by now that smoking causes cancer. If they want to continue to smoke, by all means go for it.

We should be trying to spread education about diet-related diseases to at least give folks the chance to make better choices. What they do with that information is then on them.

we cant fix people with an iq in the 80s

and what that says on the box is not wrong

the biggest problem is we listen to fat arse scientist in the lab instead of listening to the people that look great and have good blood work

i mean health isnt that hard

1) walk 8-10k steps per day

2) lift progressively heavy weights 2x per week minimum

3) eat 12x bodyweight to start and figure out maintenance based on that number, add or subtract 250-500 cals per day needed to get to goals

4) eat 0.8-1x your bodyweight in protein.

5) avoid processed foods and alcohol 90% of the time(no more than 2-3 alcohol drinks per week)

Whether you like it or not, whether it's right or wrong, we have a real obesity and food education issue in this country.

bullshite. The consumer has never been more informed than they are today. It is not an education problem, the susceptible populations have no desire to seek out healthier alternatives. Consumers prioritize palatability and convenience. Handing the FDA another couple billion in taxpayer money to study a few more preservatives and then ban them isn’t going to change that.

The answer has been given in this thread. Stop subsidizing healthcare and make people pay for choices through higher insurance premiums, much like has been done with smoking.

I’m sure most everyone has noticed over the last few years that detergent companies have been removing dyes from their products to wash your clothes. They know lawsuits will eventually come out so they are taking “proactive measures” to prepare for future lawsuits.

neither fricking matter. you ignorant fricks who yell about HFCS and seed oils and all the other bullshite without acknowledging the main issue is eating too many calories and not enough protein

do i think real cane sugar is better than hfcs sure, but its still empty arse calories. stop eating that shite

do i think lard, tallow etc are much better than seed oils.......

but in the end that is not the god damn issue

PEOPLE EAT TOO GOD DAMN MUCH COMPARED TO THEIR ENERGY OUTPUT!!!

that is not why...they are doing it because many people have skin issues with the dyes and their is a market...i.e. demand for dye free detergent so they are supplying that market because its profitable.
