Taking a pill to lose weight is fricking idiotic in the first place

Why’s that?

And what does that have to do with Ozempic?

I thought it killed the appetite so you eat drastically less.

As far as Ozempic, any Dr who subscribes to the truth would tell said patient to do more and eat less, aka make better food choices and exercise regularly. It is that simple.

I doubt most doctors are giving Semaglutide shots and telling their patients, "Alright, feel free to sit around and eat junk, the shot will do the work." I imagine the guidance is to tell patients to keep stay active, eat good foods, and exercise to avoid muscle loss.

And how well did this work out?

It worked out very well. very good drug to help quit smoking. It was recalled voluntarily by the patent holder and is currently available as a generic. FDA even holds the position the increase of nitrosamines is heavily outweighed by the benefits of smoking cessation.

Not sure what point you're trying to make lmao. Benefit of chantix strongly outweighs risk.
Your opinion was influenced by nonsense.

It was based off of the recall due to increased cancer risks. The point is people looking to jump on a pill or injection as the easy way out may compromise their well being in the long run.

sure, some batches of the drug had high nitrosamines. that doesn't mean the drug is bad, which is what you seemed to suggest.

the take home is sometimes there are impurities in things we consume.
Im just pointing our your response to my post is pretty much equivalent to saying "look how salads turned out" for people want to eat better because sometimes there is ecoli outbreaks. some people jump on healthy eating even though it may compromise their well-being.

Staying obese is likely worse. Plus there's this thing called strength training

They type of person that is going to take a pill that causes all those side effects to lose weight is risking it so they don't have to strength train.

So did I. The crazy thing is, when it comes to regular meals that’s the case. However, this person has had several instances of low blood sugar since beginning treatment with Mounjaro, which has led to more snacking throughout the day.

I think he meant 10 miles of walking exercise in addition to any steps counted by the health app on an iphone or Apple watch. But yeah, 10 miles of steps in a week as counted on an iphone is pretty easy to achieve.

Not picking on you personally, but it would be interesting to see how many posters espousing this opinion rely on medications to treat conditions that, like obesity, could also be improved or cured through simple lifestyle changes. Hypertension comes to mind immediately. Sure, sometimes it's genetics (like obesity)but the majority of people with hypertension could eliminate or drastically improve it if they committed to eating better, exercising more, and laying off the booze (like obesity). Their "family history" of hypertension is usually a family history of similar lifestyle choices.

Yet they choose to take a pill and no one cares. Take a pill (or injection) to lose weight, though (which also improves BP along with a host of other issues), and they're just lazy and, in at least one case, OTers are wishcasting cancer on them.
