Double Slit...by observing an action we create it's future

No baws, this isn't about lesbians. It's about an insane experiment that, at this point in time, concludes that by observing an action we create it's future. Top it off with a new experiment called the "quantum eraser" and it suggests that our observations affect the past. Unless the particles are moving >= the speed of light so they aren't affected by time (there is no future and past)?
This is probably the most user friendly of the videos you will find on this: LINK
I want to know, great minds of the OT, what in the frick is going on where we as conscious observers not only dictate the future but also change the past? Nobel Prize will be given to who can figure this out.

If a tree falls in a forest and there is no one there to hear it fall, does it really make a sound?

Does a bear shite in the woods?

Thought the double slit experiment showed light moves as waves and as particles at the same time?

The behavior of light is dictated by the setup of the experiment and how it is observed. That principle applies to the entire radiation spectrum, not just the visible section.

Yes. When the tree hits the ground, it sends off a vibration of which we interpret as a sound wave. Just because no one was around to hear it, doesn't mean the vibration never occured.
If there is a medium of air, which there is, the sound has a medium to move through.

Ive seen a video on this and yes ots fascinating but it may be a while before we figure that out

So it makes vibration... Which we interpret as sound.

True. But there was no one or thing to interpret said vibration as sound.

Just because we don't observe physics, doesn't mean it is not happening.

There’s still a lot that we don’t know. This experiment proves that.
Take someone who doesn’t know what they are looking at and have them record the results. If the results are the same as when one of these scientists conducts the experiment, then it is obviously not simply based upon the “knowledge”.
There is a scientific reason for these results, they just don’t know it yet.

Knowledge is not understanding. The observer doesn't have to understand what is going on in order for the behaviors to occur. In fact, a conscious human doesn't even have to be present. The detectors themselves are enough to influence the behavior of the photons.
Also, "observation" is not a conscious observer physically looking at the electron. It's just some sort of detection - be it mass, momentum, charge etc.
The issue with observation at this scale is that the objects physical state can be changed by actually measuring it. For instance, if you went out to a highway and took a picture of a car passing by, the photons that your camera sent out do not have enough momentum to significantly impact the momentum of the vehicle. But on the other hand, if you shoot a photon at another photon or induce a magnetic field to determine the state of that photon, then you absolutely affect the physical state of that photon. It would be like trying to determine the position and velocity of a car by shooting another car at it. Of course you will affect the physical state of that car.
This doesn't explain why the particle has a wavefunction and any attempt at measurement collapses that wavefunction, but it should clear up what an "observation" actually is.
