I suggest you watch Sean Carroll about this topic. He is a professor of physics at Cal-Tech and much more qualified than anyone here to opine on the subject. He has been on Joe Rogan a few times and they specifically discussed the double slit:

Our lack of understanding and lack of interest in metaphysical things like consciousness is very sad.

We're on a path for synthetic/fake representation of what our minds can do as we embark on an age of AI.

I would say you factor in PEMDAS

Thought the double slit experiment showed light moves as waves and as particles at the same time?

It's not really about light. You can use actual massive particles in the experiment and get the same result as you would with photons (photons have no rest mass).

What it shows is the inherent uncertainty of matter at tiny quantum scales. That is to say, matter behaves one way when observed (either by humans or machines) and another way when not observed. Another way of putting it is particles act one way when entangled and another way when not entangled.

Both explanations mean the same thing. Sean Carroll (who I linked above) argues that it's not consciousness making particles act a certain way, it's the effect consciousness has on the particle. In other words, to observe it you must interact with it. It's the interaction that fricks with it (not the consciousness itself).

Oh, by the way, this is an OLD problem in physics. It was first discovered in the 20's and has been accepted as fact ever since. Even though it is accepted the "what it means" remains controversial. It is usually dubbed "the measurement problem."

I wish my observation of this thread would make it disappear.

If a tree falls in a forest and there is no one there to hear it fall, does it really make a sound?

Yes. Sound waves are created.

Not having anyone around to hear those sound waves is irrelevant.
