Risk averse entertainment industry relying on a tiny pool of songwriters, beat manufacturers, engineers, and studio artists to prop up young performers
Broken homes
Widespread prescribing of ADD and ADHD medications in school age children who have now grown up
Lack of male input into education and disciplinary policies in schools leading to environmental that reward feminine behavior and punish masculinity.
Media and internet culture punishing “toxic masculinity”
Consolidation of media and music distribution allowing for greater centralized influence over what music young people get exposed to
