I could put out a mumble rap double CD with remixes in 4 hours. I couldn’t name 5 bro country artist to save my life, and I live 20 minutes from the heart of Nashville. It’s all crap.

Add iTunes and you have a pretty complete list. I know Garth gets plenty of hate on here (way overblown IMO) but he's been against iTunes from day 1. Says it takes away from songwriters and diminishes the value/quality of full albums of work. You know what, he's probably right.
I like iTunes for the convenience but it's created the poor state of music across ALL genres.

You do know that "rock" encompasses a giant array of different styles and subgenres right? I listen to more of the heavy stuff and prog metal and the like are hotter than ever. Erra is consistently putting out great albums, Loathe just redefined the genre with possibly one of the best prog albums of all time. Intronaut mixes metal with heavy jazz/psychedelic elements. Currents mixes classic thrash in an insanely melodic prog style. Issues is a little bit on the softer side showing heavy pop/R&B influence in a djent/prog style.
It's out there. Acting like it isn't or that music sucks today is such a shitty lazy take.
