Does Anyone Have a Habit of "Clearing" Their Home When Coming Back Late At Night?

I got into a habit of clearing my place when I come home at night. Nothing dramatic, but I do have a gun off safety and out and ready to use. If I left a gun in a car, I have a mace or a knife out, just in case.

Maybe it's an odd habit, but I like to know that when I'm home I don't have a mystery guest that could pop up on me when I'm not expecting.

You mean ensuring doors and locked and the home is secured before bed? Yeah, who doesn’t?

I’m not doing a full sweep though with a gun and radio

Get a Dachshund and you won't ever have to wonder if there is anyone in your house.

You have to be tired of fixing your front door.

No because I live in the 21st century and have cameras with motion detecting.

Nah I just knock on the front door and yell "Police!". If there are cockroaches inside they will scatter.

This is odd.

Its one thing to take a look around.

Its another to act like the SEALs in Zero Dark Thirty.

I thought this said cleaning. And yes, sometimes I do. I don’t want to wake up in a messy house.

In an odd case I'm slacking and someone gets my gun I don't get pewpewed with my own gun.

I do have a habit of turning the safety off when ready to use it.

No. I don't "clear" my house nightly while armed. I don't live in a warzone.

Shouldn't take long for a one room shack.
