It's amazing how bad people are at parking soccer mom suburbans and big arse trucks.

It truly is

And what's even more amazing is how we just accept it, for some reason.

Belfast currently, but targeting poorly-parked trucks instead of homes of migrants

With kids who are 6 and 10, no. The crew cab has plenty of room. I had a few extra cab Silverados and F150s and the crew cabs little of bit of extra room is great for the kids and their malarkey.

Now that we have it my wife (no pics) wants to downsize from her 4Runner to a sedan.

I can also get 26 mpg on the highway.

I feel safer towing 3500 lbs in a full size than I would in a mid size. I tow about that much every few weeks during the summer. Heavier truck is more stable and less likely to get squirrelly with a trailer attached should something like a blowout happen.

ETA That fuel mileage is cut in half towing though and I doubt a smaller truck would be any better.

Fair enough

Not saying this is you but I also know a ton of posters pay folks to do yardwork/home reno or have jobs where they literally will never need a truck

So I reckon we’re in agreement

literally no upside to driving a truck that size other than it just taking up less physical space, if that is a requirement

This is 100% correct. The fuel savings on a smaller truck (Ridgeline, Tacoma, canyon, ranger, etc.) is negligible so why not get the extra cargo space and towing capacity of a full size? I had a Colorado company vehicle with a 4cyl for a while and that thing got 22-23 mpg average. My v8 F-150 got 21 mpg avg. Both trucks were 2019 models and both 2wd. The bigger truck was infinitly more comfortable to drive/ride in.

Same for sticker price. The smaller/midsize trucks aren't really that much cheaper. I guess if I lived/drove in the city a lot I will admit that it's much easier to park and maneuver a smaller vehicle. That's about the only upside that I see.

I used to actually take pictures of them and post it on Facebook saying if you can't park a truck you shouldn't drive a truck. I wasn't lying earlier when I said a few saw me do it and lost their minds. I only wish I'd posted their absolute meltdowns and lack of personal responsibility

They're basically the Karmelo Anthony supporters of the automotive community

I've never understood the desire to own a full sized truck if you don't need the power and size. but the interiors are so nice to ride in if you're a passenger.

i'd much rather daily drive a mid sized.

Downsized from a Silverado 2500 to a ridgeline. No longer needed the 3/4 ton and I travel for work. Ridgeline pulls my utility trailer and 17ft tracker just fine. Rides great and I get 24-26 mpg on hwy.

V8 tundra gets 12 mpg. Pulling the boat is even worse.

The MPG is not negligible over years of ownership.

Yes, years ago when my wife tried to drive my F350 dually through the drug store drive through with a sick grandma on board. And banged up the fender flares.

And I use it to haul my mountain bike. And my jet ski. Talk about overkill.

It's a 2000 w the 7.3 Cummins with 180K miles. It will be still going after I'm gone.

My bigger question is for the baws with the big trucks who can't do things like park. If you can't drive the truck properly, why do you have it?

I work on the road all day and drive a fuel efficient car. We have a Silverado that my wife drives. I only drive the truck when we go ride SxS and 4wheelers.

So I can't park that bitch in a parking lot to save my life.

Is it too big? I don't tow over 3500 pounds but do like the size with four adults in the vehicle and do like that I can pass and merge onto the highway with my trailer without hold my breath.

I'd like to have the Raptor Ranger with the 3.0 400hp engine. Had that same drivetrain in an Explorer; ran like a scalded ape. Hard to call it a truck. Has the advantage of being fast and being able to haul stuff.
