Yes, years ago when my wife tried to drive my F350 dually through the drug store drive through with a sick grandma on board. And banged up the fender flares.

And I use it to haul my mountain bike. And my jet ski. Talk about overkill.

It's a 2000 w the 7.3 Cummins with 180K miles. It will be still going after I'm gone.

a 2000 F-350 with a 7.3 Cummins?

Only way I'm getting a smaller truck is when Chevy comes back with the 2Dr Tahoe.

I would buy one immediately if that happened. It is kind of crazy how big full size trucks have gotten. I have a 2011 Silverado and I noticed one day I was parked next to a new Colorado and there is nearly no difference in size.

Tacoma has historical engine issues.

GMC has addressed their engine issues and are looking to increase their volume this fall.

My Toyota Corolla was taken off the delivery hauler during Covid. Told the salesman “if that car is being delivered here, here’s $500 to hold it.” I spent four hours waiting for paperwork. Ten months to go before I have the title. Don’t want to spend $80 plus on a truck.

Canyon. It is the perfect size for the vast majority of what needs to be done.

I definitely wouldn't mind one now that the kids are out of the house and I ride solo 99% of the time.

I have a 24 Ranger XLT FX4 with the 4cyl.

I do truck things but not much hauling. It’s perfect for me to drive daily and plenty of power at 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque.

I don’t trust any new truck so it is covered for 100k miles.

Exactly. I have the diesel variety and it will tow 7000 lbs.

Ah yes, a nice comfortable interstate drive at 5,000 rpm the whole time.

Also, will it stop 7,000 lbs when you're halfway into a burrito bite and the soccer mom in front of you didn't see traffic slowing down cause she was scrolling insta?

Re-engineered the power plant, correcting major issues. I’ve got two unassembled POS Ford’s sitting with engine problems. We’ll see how many GMC Engineers keep their jobs over this advertised correction.

Right now I’d give the Ford Trucks a trip to the graveyard. But, I need the trucks for 800 acres.

So why have a big truck instead of getting something more reasonable like a Tacoma or Maverick?

Because I’m not a fig.

My bigger question is for the baws with the big trucks who can't do things like park. If you can't drive the truck properly, why do you have it?

I wonder what percentage of the population could pass a standard OMV driving test in the vehicle they drive most frequently.

God I hate those. Terribly cramped, awful use of space. Wife had one the tranny crapped out after less than 10k miles and fricking worthless arse Carmax said it wasn't under warranty.

I have a 2000 F-150 and it looks nearly the same size class as those trucks now. Granted it's still built to be a significantly heavier-duty truck than a current Taco or Maverick, new trucks just feel bloated.

5.0 V8 Ford gets 21mpg average. GM and Ram trucks with a V8 are similar. So my statement is still accurate for most trucks. The 5.7L V8 Tundra, while having legendary reliability, is notorious for terrible gas mileage.

ETA: Toyota also stopped making that gas guzzler so your example is more of an outlier

I need a lifted F-250 just for the size of my truck nuts, no way I could go with a smaller truck

I've always had a full sized crew cab because I had kids. They are pretty much grown now but I'm kind of used to the space at this point. I'll probably get another full sized when the time comes.

Tacoma is not as good on gas as you would think and I like the extra room of a full size truck.
