That is what the Big 870 Dubba Dubble ELL is for. But who listens to Ole Tommy Tucker from his bunker in Belle Chasse.

My favorite eye roll has to be morning TV and traffic reports on TV. I may hear about an accident on the Causeway or I-10 westbound at the high rise, but by the time I am on the road it may be cleared up.

But at least most TV stations know the format for these reports, find a busty woman with a nice arse and a sexy voice. You will care less about the fact that traffic is bad, but you will tune in for the T&A.


My favorite traffic story and the media has to be from Rush Limbaugh. He had a station manager in Pittsburgh that came up with an idea to announce traffic reports from the various tunnels around time with various colors to say to make the reports shorter in length. To help the listeners they would distribute cards that people would have in their car so they could decipher what the colors meant. So imagine people in their cars at each traffic reports reaching and reading this card while driving down the road to plan their route in to work. I definitely sounds like something that could cause a few accidents.

No. I refuse to use a map unless I'm stuck in traffic. It ruins your spatial awareness. My wife does and now she couldn't find her way out of a paper bag.

There was once a thread on here reporting a state trooper's location along I-12. The trooper was taking his lunch break and posted on the OT "that's me, I just marked myself on Waze". That's when I knew Waze was the app for me.

I always have it on my screen to see the police. And I probably use guidance more than half the time I’m going somewhere to avoid traffic.

The better question is why do both platforms still exist since Waze is owned by Google?

For any travel that takes me on the interstate I always have destination set for any stoppages/delays. For my daily drive, I don't have a destination set but the map display is on. It's like having a mini map in video games.

Yes. I like to be able to see where traffic is jammed up especially when there’s construction going on in multiple areas.

This. I do it mostly because it will reroute me if there is a faster way. I also like to have a general understanding of total travel time.
