If we go somewhere that has a lot of small plates that we like we'll sometimes order a few of those and split them. Or any family style dining scenario, Indian food, pizza, fried chicken, etc...

But, at a "typical" restaurant, we probably aren't splitting.

Now that's smart!

We just cut each individual morsel in half.

I'll tell you, a plate of white beans is a chore! And don't even get me started on rice and gravy!

No, we don't want nor need to. What we will do, however, is if we both can't decide between the same two entrees one will order one and the other will order the other, then we'll divide them between us or at least sample the other's to see which was the better choice.

Which is why Pre-Chew Charlie's costs only half of what other restaurants charge.

Splitting meals and being embarrassed to take home leftovers?

WTF has happened to this place?

Most restaurant portions are huge and it makes it pretty cost effective.

My wife and I split a combo plate from Albasha all the time and we still have leftovers for under $20. Same with the cobb salad from Chick-fil-A

ETA - this is mostly for takeout, not when we dine in

We like trying new places and getting a couple appetizers and a main dish and we just split it to taste different things

Not due to cost, but due to trying not to be gluttons.

Of course. What better way to experience different dishes.

First of all, we rarely eat out, maybe once every two months or so. Usually bc of some family event. We'd rather spend our money on drinks while out dancing.

But yes, I actually like my wife, we have a blast everywhere we go. If we are in a booth, yes I sit on the same side as her. So of course we split meals.

The last one that comes to mind is at the Italian restaurant in Punta Cana over Thanksgiving. She had the tuna over risotto and I had the ravioli. Both were excellent.

Bring on the DV's.

We often order two entrees and split each of them. She never eats her full share so I usually have leftovers of both.

Yes sometimes. With Bidenomics eating out is so expensive. Besides it's healthier not to eat so much.

For cost? No. Because I eat 3 bites and am full and then hungry again an hour later? Yes. It’s a vicious cycle.

Dinner at home a few nights ago -
