It was legal to drink at 18 at the time; I went bar hopping with friends.

Then I enlisted, before turning 21 and trained in some states where I had do my drinking illegally. There are some installations which serve 18-21 years. Then I went to countries with much lower drinking ages, and countries without alcohol, and them back to the USA when I was finally old enough in every state...

... and then, I discovered "dry counties". What the actual frick?

A 6 pack of Yuengling, which was my go-to purchase for the previous 5 years, anyway.

No, but I was 18 in NOLA which was a good time.

I remember getting into bars when I was 16

12 pack of Michelob at the Campus Convenience store at Southeastern. Cashier almost didn't sell it to me because I was turning 21 on my actual birthday. Strangest shite I ever heard.

Was probably a 12 pack of Bud Light at Ray's in Maurice, but I don't recall.

I was buying alcohol illegally for years, so I don't really recall my first "legal" purchase.

I don’t remember what it was (can beer) but it was at the big truck stop on hwy30 between Gonzales and LSU. They didn’t card me. I was pissed. So I stopped at the next gas station towards LSU to buy again. Was carded. Success!

No idea. I'm from New Orleans so had been drinking regularly from about 14 on at bars and buying liquor at stores we knew didn't card.... turning 21 was memorable, not b/c I could drink legally, but b/c I could go to Harrah's and gamble finally.

I think I bought a 40 on the way home from class. I was living on Lee at the time and there was an Exxon I think in between Highland and where I lived so I scooped one up.

Yes...my birthday was dead in the middle of finals week

Same here. It was always on dead day, or the first couple of days of finals. Had an 8 AM accounting final the next morning. I remember my parents drove up and took my wife (GF at the time) and I to dinner. Had a couple mixed drinks and we stopped at a gas station to grab some beer on the way home.

6 pack of Hoegaarden from the gas station by Kolache Kitchen. Couldn't drink it until the next day because I had to study for an exam on my birthday good times.

America’s Pub downtown BR. It was Red Bull and Jager and I can still taste the trashiness to this day.
