Do you remember your first "legal" alcoholic beverage/purchase?

Myself and the gf at that time went to the Circle K on Brightside in Baton Rouge at midnight when I turned 21. I bought two 24 oz bottles of Shiner Bock. I then went and bought a bottle of Jim Beam at the AM mart. IDK why I just remembered that but damn, was a good night. Not a care in the world.

This was 2007. I think LSU had just won the SEC a couple of days before.

Yes...my birthday was dead in the middle of finals week so I went to walmart (to guarantee I would get carded) and bought myself a 6 pack....really one of my sadder stories from college

They had just changed the law to 21 when I turned 18 and then for some reason they changed it back to 18 for a little while, and when they did, my first purchase.. I think.. Were several 40oz Old English

I don't remember. I know that I could buy it legally in 1996 in a bar for a bit until they changed it back to 21.

It didn't really matter though. Almost no place enforced that rule for a while.

Yep. Had a research paper due the next day. Was gonna be an all-nighter. Took a break to grab a single Bud Light to celebrate the occasion. Didn’t even get carded, though.

Yeah it was at Bruno’s on Maple St. in New Orleans. The doorman was confused when I showed him my ID that said I was newly 21 versus me being 22 for the previous year.

How much did it cost? I remember flats of stones going for $7.99 when I first got to LSU.

2009. I was at Walmart, holding a bottle of Jack and a case of bud light at the checkout counter when the clock struck midnight.

The cashier said "thats cute"

Then I went get shite faced with my friends at my apartment.
