I don’t let the woman drive, I make them. Who has time to waste driving 6 to 12 hours when she can do it and I can work? I hate driving.

Usually if in my wife’s car she drives, if in my truck I drive, but I prefer her to drive on trips so I can sleep, she is probably a better driver than I am.

Absolutely not. I always drive which is good because I want to drive and she never wants to drive.

I don't mind driving and drive 80%-90% of the time we are in the car together, local or road trip. But I don't mind my wife driving and feel like she can drive whenever she wants.

Also, I can't speak to every individual case, but if you look at the data and insurance rates women are better, or at least safer drivers than men. I bet some of yall think you're awesome drivers, but your wife is actually the better driver in the household. Seems like a lot of control issues in here more than anything else.

Can’t do it… we went on a 10hr road trip to gatlinburg TN I had slept maybe 2 hrs before the drive she offered to drive we were also pulling my motorcycle trailer with my Harley in it and we made it to the front of the neighborhood and that was the end of her driving .. she can pull a trailer as long as the trailer brakes are hooked up and set properly, but only if I am not in the vehicle, I got instantly sick riding in the passenger seat

She prefers that I drive but I usually ask her to take a 3-4 hour stretch so that I can pull out the laptop and get some work done or hop on a conference call.

I’d really prefer if she drove more but she doesn’t want to.

We recently drove from Baton Rouge to Glacier National park in northwest Montana. We took turns.

No. I tried that back when we first got married and thought I would get some rest. She logged about an hour of driving time before 'waking' me up saying she needed a break.

After 20+ years she now just asks me if I'm ok or if it's ok that she sleep. Lately the long drives take it out of me. This year we were looking at vacations and she was like.. we could go someplace 12 hrs away and I nixed it. Sure it sounds like fun to everyone else sitting and playing on their devices but I'm not willingly doing that for vacation. I'm a stop only for gas kind of guy when we travel.

My wife is a great driver, but a horrible navigator. So, I let her drive while I navigate and identify points of interest/restaurants/gas stations.

We generally take scenic routes and avoid the interstate, so we don't just let the GPS direct us.

Just returned from a long trip. My wife never sat in the driver’s seat but drove the whole way.

It’s not so much a matter of me “letting” my wife drive or not when we travel. She sees it being my job to drive so I do. We’ve been married a quarter century I honestly can’t remember a single time where she expressed an interest in driving and me riding.

I usually make him drive for trips so I can dick off on my phone, but I drive us 90% of the time at home.

Absolutely not. Not as long as I have a pulse.

And she is fine with that.

Whenever we go home to Pittsburgh, she'll drive about a 1/3 of the trip. That way I can rest a little. She's actually a very good driver.

I posted this on the thread about SOs worst habits:

Sunday my wife said she wanted to get out and get some sunshine. She decided she wanted us to take a drive, and take her car since it has a sun roof.

To my dismay, she also decided she wanted to drive.

I swear to God, I have no idea how she hasn't killed herself or someone else yet. I was white knuckled the whole time as she: sped up and slowed down repeatedly for no reason, hugged the left side of the lane, sat behind some a-hole who was going 10 miles under the speed limit on a 4 lane road with no other cars around us, AND, tailgated said a-hole, missed her turn, TWICE, and sped through the one area of Tomball that is notorious for cops giving out tickets.

I really feel like I need to have a long talk with her dad about how shitty a job he did teaching (not) her how to drive.

So needless to say, I do all the driving on road trips. Luckily I like to drive and she likes to sleep. It works out.
