We have the same mayor
What do you think of him? I honestly don't know much. I don't really hear/see many people bitching about him. I know that road projects are choking the city

I think it's bad arse the Kane became the mayor of Knoxville county.
When I was young I really believed he was Undertakers scarred up brother.

Yes.
He is a friend and lives right down the road from me.
Does alot for his constituents.

My mayor owned a brewery here, and then sold it to Urban South in New Orleans when he decided to run for office.
fun fact: he also used to be the Alabama beat writer for the Tuscaloosa News
i’m also on first name basis with another former mayor who attends my church
you live in the same place long enough, you get to know everybody eventually

I think he's doing fine. I look at similar sized cities in the region and it seems we have a lot of momentum and excitement compared to others. I think having American Magic and the things they are doing is cool (puts a lot of eye$ on the area) and if he can close that Birdon deal at the port that'll transform the job profile.
At my company we've even been successful in recruiting young talent from outside the area, which I couldn't say 5-10 years ago.

My old mayor got witch hunt by racist YTs but she's not in office anymore (also because of racist YTs). I don't know my current mayor since I moved.

What line of work are you in, if you don't mind me asking?

I don't know the NOLA mayor intimately but I have a fraternity brother that does.

I'm a fan of his politics as well.
quote:
In July 2020, Jacobs was the only member of the Knox County Board of Health to vote against a mask mandate for those inside certain buildings. He defended his vote by saying, "I worry that one-size-fits-all mandates such as this set a terrible precedent for government overreach, are difficult to enforce, can cause conflict between the authorities and the public when enforced, and, as written, this order places enforcement responsibilities on private businesses."[286][287] He would get into a dispute with the Board in September 2020, after he recorded a video where images of fellow members were displayed over narration of Jacobs calling them "unelected bureaucrats who cast down edicts which carry the force of law with no accountability and no recourse".

Yes, but I live in a fairly smallish town, so knowing the mayor isn’t exactly a flex.
