But to your question, isn't the point of having police and radar to reduce driving accidents and death?
Whatever you do to slow down the other drivers is doing the same thing if only for a mile or two.

Nope. Get Waze like the rest of us. I do enjoy slowing down for a speed trap only to be passed furiously by a douchebag and seeing the blue lights come on for them.

It actually is illegal. Many LEO's will follow up those flashers if it's possible. It pissed them off, quotas or not. Called "obstructing" or 'interfering".

Depends on the nature of the speed trap. If it is a small town cop that has a speed trap set up in some bushes directly behind the speed limit sign…I will flash because I see that as a blatant money grab.
If it is a state trooper set up on an interstate, I don’t flash, because I don’t see thst as much of a money grab…and you have to be hauling arse in that situation to get a ticket.

Me thinks you overestimate how many people would pay attention even if we did. I can't get assholes out of the passing lane when I directly flash their driver's side and rearview mirror 70% of the time.

Depends on the situation. I don’t like cops sitting behind things like those mounds/hills in the median between the stretches I-10 driving through Texas.
