Do You Carry Cash?

Nope, haven't done so in years. No need to for what I need and what I do.

In the past, every time I left the house, it was always phone/wallet/keys. Now with no need for cash, and just having a cell phone case that holds 3 cards, the only thing I need is my phone to leave the house.

Yes, especially at bars after I was mistakenly charged $300 on a $30 tab. Took weeks to straighten that out.

Usually $50-$100 walking around in case I need it. Only ever carry more if I have a specific reason for it.

As a general rule I try not to walk around with “fighting money.” Meaning an amount I might decide is worth fighting over if it ever came down to that.

Yes because cash can do things a credit card won't accomplish.

I was in an antiques store in MS the other day and saw a 1980's LA DOT road sign (the pelican picking up trash) that I remember from when I was a kid.

They were asking $200 which is in line with what they are selling for on Ebay and other auction sites.

I pulled $160 in cash out of my pocket and held it up in front of the store owner. He took the money and I took the sign. Deal was done. That isn't happening with a credit card.
if some sucker wanted to pay 160 for a road sign I assure you they’d have taken the deal no matter how you wanted to pay

I always try to have at least $200, consisting of at least some $20, $10 and $5 bills.

100% of my in-person purchases are cash, except for fuel.

I have a card for fuel and a debit card for when necessary and online purchases.

That debit card is for my second bank account which I use for spending. My first bank account is for automatic bill payments. I don’t have a debit card for that account, it’s strictly bank draft bill pay.

Do what works for you. This is what works for me. The problem now is sporting events and concerts that don’t take cash. Gotta use the card for those.

People on this board have seen what I look like why would I announce something like that on here?

Sure the odds of someone recognizing me from the board, remembering I said I carry cash and then robbing me are low, but you still never know.

With that said, no I carry no cash. I like having all of my transactions documented
