re: Do you believe police have a right to order you inside while you're on your property?

Try not to slip on that slope you made there.
Well that’s ironic, given that you’re the one creating this slope for all of the reasons that have been repeated by multiple people in this thread.

Feel free to be a martyr for your cause, as for me and my family, we will be safely inside my house, not being shot by police.
Yea, you still don’t see it.

Curfew was in effect for this video, but the curfew also said you could be on your property/porch. The cops were wrong here without a doubt.

Yeah, from his mindset, I guess the police can see your wife on the porch and order her to blow the entire force for being outside. Guess they can make up any law they want.

It’s become clear to me that the police (collectively) can not control themselves and will need major reforms to come from outside.
That’s unfortunate because now they’ve opened themselves up to being regulated by the Gary Chambers of the world all because they have balkanized behind a political party and lack the will to put their foot down when it comes to the bad/incompetent cops.
If the police had higher standards and were less “just lick my boots and you won’t get shot” then many of us would be behind them 100%.
I mean now Republicans are saying the police can go through neighborhoods with armored vehicles shooting people for being on their porch. I can’t throw my support behind Biden but you guys really lose me when it comes to blind police worship. It’s an insult to actual good cops.
It’s unfortunate but the good cops are going to get dragged down with the bad unless they stand up.

The guy I was trying to think of is Daniel Shaver. If you watch that video, then see that the LEO was found not guilty, then awarded a $31k, Tax-free pension, you will never want to leave your home again.
It was a clear murder of a guy being compliant.
I am (nearly) convinced that cop actually wanted to shoot him, like chub in his pants wanted to.
I think his punishment should have been playing an equally deadly game of Simon Sez after a few drinks.

Is it that hard to go inside while riot police are sweeping your street?
Is it that hard to leave people alone when they aren't doing anything, much less something wrong?

That is close to what it was like. The cop was a masochist and was going to shoot Shaver no matter how much he tried to comply. He was getting shot that night no matter what.

We are letting less than a dozen cases nationwide dictate national narrative.
Cops aren't out of control, the bad ones just aren't held accountable. There are very easy fixes to this problem.

Police officers have to deal with the dregs of society on a daily basis. They get cursed, they are spit on, they have to worry if they will make it home alive after their shift. They also have to deal with people who shove cameras in the officer's face, trying to elicit an aggressive response for their youtube channel.
The don't HAVE to do any of that. They purposefully applied for the job.

Hate to break it to you, but police can give you orders while you’re standing on your porch.
If those folks had gone inside they would not have been shot. There is really nothing else to it.
I hope you are trolling, but if not I really hope someone claims you are a drug dealer and every asset you own gets tied up in civil asset forfeiture.

Man. That's a hard video to watch. What was going on that the cops were called in the first place?
Baw was a pest control guy. He had a pellet gun to shoot rats with. He was working out of town and was staying with it in this motel. Someone saw him holding it through the window.
The po po were called and even though he tried to comply, he was getting shot no matter what. It was a power-drunk authoritarian calling a deadly game of Simon Says. There was nothing he could have done to make them not shoot him.

A dozen cases?
Yea there are thousands of videos that prove otherwise.
