I've never spanked my kids, but it seems as time out is not cutting it anymore. My boy is 3.
I know improper discipline is trashy so what does the OT do to raise great members of society ?

Don't need to. If I raise my voice and yell they both start crying. If that didn't work I would definitely spank though.

I have friends who do and friends who don't...there doesn't seem to be much difference in the general behavior of those kids who do get spankings and those who don't.
looks like spanking just takes less effort on the parent's part than other forms of discipline.

Spanking is definitely the most effective form of punishment in my household. You can't over do it though, or it will become less effective.
