Like anything else, it probably exists for a small minority of people, but it's become a catch all for every Tom, Dick, and Harry to say they need meds.

Which is funny because I know multiple people with cystic fibrosis that are shut out from hospitals due to "drug seeking behavior" but the pillheads always seem to be able to get theirs.

Fibromyalgia is what doctors diagnose when they can’t find the cause of the patients complaint. Sometimes the missed diagnosis is a physical ailment that is undiagnosed, sometimes it is a mental issue that is undiagnosed.
Pill mill doctors also diagnose fibromyalgia just so that they can sign scripts.

You just start to ache when you get older. I applaud medicines or treatments that help with that, but you have to expect that.

Well when two of your future in laws has the disease and a person chooses to participate in fund raising events, you tend to meet a lot of people with said disease.
It wasn't meant as a brag at all, so if it came across as that it wasn't my intention.

Cystic Fibrosis is actually pretty common as far as carriers go. About 1-30 carry it with no symptoms or complications. But there are only about 30,000 active cases in the US.
Louisiana actually has a very large CF foundation. They are the ones who put on Swamp Pop Music Fest at Lamar Dixon as their fundraiser.
