Maybe because they will. Pull into Autozone, guy will check your old battery and replace it with a compatible new one, then dispose of the old one. How would you do it?

I've hanged hubs, rotors, brakes, tires, batteries on my own. I still appreciate the convenience of them knocking it out in front of the store and getting on with my day. People acting like it's unmanly are likely insecure about their own manliness. And yes, I'll tip the guy a few bucks.
