Apparently I'm living in the Stone Age also because I use an iPod Touch for music in the MINI. I still buy cds, the collection is probably around 1100 currently, the Touch works for that big of a music library. I have Sirius, too, but if I'm driving any sort of distance I want my own tunes to pick and choose.

It’s not considered. They are obsolete. I get that you prefer it for whatever reason, but the world has long since moved on from iPod compatibility

For the general population, sure. But no, portable hifi players have been a thing for a while now, just not in the circles you run in. Sony still makes them and they are very pricey.

The iPod isn’t considered hifi due to a substandard amplifier, but they are cheap second hand and can be modified to hold 100k+ songs. Believe or not, there are people who still purchase music and want to curate their own music vs have an algorithm choose. I do both.

I didn’t say that there aren’t people who still use them.

I said that they are obsolete. Anything manufactured for the general population, like vehicles, have moved way past the iPod. It’s like complaining that your Xbox 360 can’t run new games. You may use it, but there isn’t enough people that do to make it something that manufacturers are accounting for anymore.

Does your car not have bluetooth? I would be extremely surprised if a new car didn't have bluetooth, or atleast an Aux connection.

For my iphone to work on the screen i have to actually plug it in to the usb port.

I can get a little dongle and just do it wirelessly, i just haven't gotten around to it.

But that carplay dongle would be plugged into the usb or usb c port. Then the phone would theoretically work wirelessly.

My vehicle does have bluettoth too, it's just the iphone doesnt work with it. Has to be plugged in.

You can. What I am not sure about is if he can access his iTunes purchases with the Android version of the Apple Music app without joining and paying for Apple Music.

I read one article that stated previous purchases could be synced on the android version, but it was vague about whether this could be done with a wired connection to a computer (or what OS on computer) to avoid joining Apple Music or adding some type of paid Apple iCloud storage/drive service which allows syncing of past purchases using the cloud.

Should be a solution here. Transfer the tunes from iTunes to your Android phone.

LINK

And just google itunes on android for more solutions, if those don;t work. The AI gave me:

Transferring Music:
If you have music files that you want to transfer from an iTunes library to an Android device, you can use a third-party software or a USB cable to copy the files to your Android device.

probably covered in that video, I didn't watch it.

I have the last series ipod. It's basically a tiny iPhone without being able to make calls.

Android auto is far superior anyway
