I wear mostly v-necks so they are not noticed. In the dead heat of summer my Polo would have to be thrown into the laundry after an hour of being outside. T-shirts allow you to use them again before wash and also prevent stains.

One of my triggers when I was a younger man in the office was seeing all the men with white long sleeve polyester shirts and no t shirt. They stunk and their shirts were stained yellow at the pits. Also the guys with blue or dark colored shirts full of sweat spots on the back and pits. I never wanted to end up like those guys. My t-shirts are the ones that get yellow which I then throw them out. No-one sees that.

I wear undershirts so that my main shirts don’t smell. They are awesome actually.

Also, if my deodorant fails the smell will have to penetrate two layers. If someone has to remove their shirt in front of others for some reason, at least they have an underlayer. I’ve been in outdoor situations where I’ll toss the undershirt in trash and clean up a bit for the right home with others in the car. The only time not to wear one is if you have a T-shirt on.

If someone is wearing an undershirt you should look at them as respectful of others.

Depending on the shirt, you can now get some compression shirts to hide the fat and man boobs.

I guess it sells better than calling it what it is - a corset.

Best of both worlds is vneck undershirt

For the record, nobody should be going outside and then rewearing shirts. Especially during summer.

Undershirts will extend the life of your outerwear by absorbing sweat/stains/oil/odor. They’ll also make your dress shirts less transparent. No one wants to see your huge puffy nipples through your light shirts.

Do you wear underwear? If so, I’d like to know the logic.

spot on, however, i don't wear underwear with jeans.

@Chicken, A TD branded/sponsored fat compressor would be a hot commodity in the store for all the upper end BMI baws around here.

Undershirt with a polo is fat guy behavior

Some type of sweat wicking shirt under a dress shirt is okay because dress shirts get soaked in sweat in Louisiana

There’s absolutely no reason to wear a tshirt or a “wifebeater” type shirt under any other shirt (button down, polo, etc).

I'm not changing a tire in a nice dress shirt.

Why do you wear underwear then under your pants?

A crisp tee shirt with the collar still tight restrains chest hair from coming out above the top of a dress shirt.

As long as you can’t see the undershirt it is fine. If you can see it under your polo or dress shirt it looks stupid. It is the same thing as having your underwear showing. I sometimes wear them with a button up if a wear a tie. But if I don’t button the collar, then maybe a vneck.
