I recognize this is Oweo, mundane things of life territory; and I missed some hyphens in that sentence.

But did becoming a mother change your wife in any appreciable way- good or bad?

I understand this is unique to your wife and y’all’s particular relationship, but did the fact of becoming a mom change anything about her?

I’ll just say my wife is the best and the worst so we can all be honest here.

After a few real responses, I’ll share the truth that lead to this post.

Became overprotective as hell and will never be able to function separated from our kids.

She changed after the fourth kid, hormone imbalance is what i was told. She did not get back in her right mind until five years later.

Once kids come along, you’re number two.

Oh hell yeah she changed. Did you think there was a chance she wouldn’t?

Our first and only child is almost 2. I haven’t really noticed anything too different with her. Our life is completely different, but I can’t really say that she has changed too much.

My first wife changed after our first kid, any person does, kids bring a whole new complication to life and test every bit of a person's character. She changed even more after the second one.

My second wife changed after I married her.

I've begun to realize I'm horrible at picking women.

Yes of course. One of us had to and I certainly wasn't ready back then.

She actually became less dramatic. Not sure how else to explain. Overnight, she started taking things more in stride than ever before. And still does almost 7 years later.

She also basically quit drinking. Obviously that started when she was pregnant, but it didn't really come back after the birth. This is sometimes good and sometimes bad. She'll still get boozy on rare occasionsthese days, but not like before.

Wife - no, other than her career desires and goals... but that leads me really to:

Life - yes, both of us have made decisions since the birth of our first child, like HUGE life altering decisions, we would have never made before the child. Example: I took a pay cut for better benefits and better retirement, she completely stopped wanting to be in the career path she got a Master's Degree for (and did with my blessing, not that she needed it, it was best for the kid)

She gained some weight and gets tired way more than before. Our idea of a hot date is staying in with the kids and grilling steak whereas before kids we’d travel to exotic places where she would happily wear a bikini and we would frick like rabbits.

Now I’m depressed.

Mine is still the same after two. Me on the other hand...

Literally found out today number 3 is on the way, so I’ll at least add to the case study in the next year or two.

Edited because words mean things

She’s working full time from home and raising our 1 year old full time. Her parents come by daily and my mom too, but she’s the main caretaker of this badass lil bitch daughter of ours day in and day out.

It’s like motherhood has elevated her to another level of responsibility and responsiveness and awesomeness and I can’t help but think it’s because she’s preternaturally disposed to providing for our daughter and I’m just along for the ride.

[take your feminism and chauvinistic shots here]

But it’s awesome and I love it and maybe this is why caveman didn’t murder the females for food when it got cold.

(A) People should not false advertise.
(B) Parenting is the most important thing you will ever do.
(C) People.....not just moms....make a decision about who they are going to be as they navigate this parenting life. It’s not easy, and in all honesty, the older the kids get, the more challenging it becomes.
(D) The rewards greatly outweigh the negatives

I live in a house full of women where the youngest one is 14. You will feel my pain one day and yearn for her being 1.

I don't know what preternaturally means but this is a better way to explain what I was trying to say.

Have more with that woman asap if yall both want more. Don't wait.
