Did your home insurance not get renewed or premiums doubled?
Posted by PeteRose

Got a letter that it won't be renewed. The reason is "change is underwriting appetite". Trying to look for new policy only the premiums are close to doubled of last year's renewal. Indirect costs of Ida and inflation I guess.
Mine doubled (Geico subbed to Homesite) so I called Progressive. They quoted me UNDER what I was paying Geico. Got the new policy and they subbed it to... Homesite. LoL. Mortgage lender and Homesite were baffled and paid both policies. Took a couple of weeks to fix it all.

who were you with?
Got a notice a few weeks ago that mine wouldn't be renewed. Never filed a claim and not in a flood zone. Never got a reason listed, just a notice from GMFS that progressive was dropping us.
Mine only increased about $150 a year because I’m not insured with a shite company that 95% of the public hasn’t heard of. I had a $20,000 hail claim in April and a $7,000 Ida claim in 2021.

Inflation had my house value to go up. In turn my insurance went up 33% or $100 per month. Hazard.

I believe progressive dropped every home that is 10 years or older. I may be mistaken. Don’t quote me.
Mine (USAA) went up 25% - I was shocked...then I got my new appraisal from the county tax assessor - then I was shocked again. I'm starting to think that Zillow has some kind of time machine.

If the great reset ("you will own nothing and be happy") is real, one of the easiest ways for the elite to execute this would be jacking up insurance rates coupled with long-lasting inflation and / or stagflation.

That could be it, I'm in an old house.
