Of course, but you'd be dumb not to abuse it yourself.

Yep, it was legit.

And you don't even have to have it, just say you do.

I'm going to guestimate that 60% of ADHD diagnoses are not real...and I'll assume this thread is dedicated to those fake afflictions.

But if you think there's no such thing as real ADHD, you are just ignorant.

Welcome to at least 15 years ago...

As a result, you've got parents soliciting doctors to diagnose their kid who has a short attention span and poor reading comprehension as ADD. Junior gets into college, but now has a drug habit to go along with his poor study habits. Recipe for success.

the problem is the double-benefit

not only do those with ADHD get to legally use performance enhancing drugs, ON TOP OF THAT, they get special accomodations

Oh yes so they should get special treatment on exams, especially in professional schools, because the real world will slow down for them.

I never did it myself, but I can say that, looking back, I kind of wish I had.

then you didn't have it. Sorry, but that post is just ignorant. It's abused. There are lots of kids who don't have it but get medicated.

Because taking a test replicates real world conditions and scenarios.

no pretty sure they help the performances of those with ADD, too

I wish a brilliant pharmacologist/chemist could come up with a form of speed that wasn't deleterious to brain health with prolonged, habitual usage.

I wish I would have at least taken the drugs during school. The amount of study time you can put in with them is insane, and could be the difference between $75k out of law school or $125k.

That drug may help them memorize, but it absolutely doesn't help creativity. Anything worth pursuing is built on creativity...

This is completely fricked up and let's you know where this has all gotten us.

quote:

I'm about to graduate from LSUHSC in Nola and I will say that almost our entire class takes vyvance/addy. There's actually a doctor that anyone who wants to get prescribed can go to and he hands prescriptions out like candy as long as you agree to go see him every couple months because he is researching how that stuff affects you.

At this level it's not so much about managing time, it's more about making time. Most days I'm in class from 8-5 that is mandatory, and I might have 3 or 4 tests that week. If I didn't have this stuff there is no way I would have get enough stuff done in a day because I would just be too ehuasted

Yea I would say it is real but I think it's more like 95% fake diagnoses as opposed to real.

I also think that despite a real ADHD diagnosis, the double time and drugs on tests gives them an unfair advantage over "normal" kids.

I would love to see a study on how well ALL kids perform on an ACT under normal conditions and then with double time and drugs. I bet there are sharp increases in scores regardless of ADHD.

Did you know that kids with real ADHD actually need special treatment to complete the ACT and SAT?

What are they going to do when they enter the workforce? As far as I know, I haven't seen any special accommodations for those with ADHD in the workplace.

That's why you eat a half gram of mushrooms with a 10mg addy.
